I wish I knew what to tell you, because I’m in the same boat. I might be the world’s worst texter. And a lot of people (especially women) nowadays want to be entertained over text. I’d rather call, or even better, hang out in person. Just leaving this here to hopefully follow this, maybe someone else can provide some insight. Just seems like work I’m currently uninterested in doing. I’m a working professional, I don’t have time to sit there and send tiktoks to someone, or whatever people do these days.

Highest probability here is that you misread signals and she wasnt as interested as you thought. Women often feign interest in real life because it's super awkward (esp in social circle or events like this hockey thing) for her to be rude and tell you she's not interested in you.

There's also a possibility that she is actually busy or that she suddenly started dating someone she likes, but it's more likely (esp if you get this a lot) that you're misreading things.

It's sales. In the same respect you don't just walk up to a girl and say "I like you, what is your phone number", you need to get her to invest first. She's laughing, smiling, contributing, then you ask. Foreplay.

You have to 'massage' the situation; "That sounds horribly boring. If only there was a fun, witty, handsome guy to take your mind off it. I'll let you know if I see one." Point is, you have to see if she's willing to engage and invest in the first place, that asking for compliance is nothing.

It's 'bad' because what can you respond to this:

"I understand, take care"

I mean, listen, if you don't happen have this image carved into your pre-frontal cortex, ready to send at a moments notice, you got nothing.

You could argue, why do I have to entertain a piece of cardboard? Well, you have to show 'enough' that she's enthusiastic about it. Especially in the initial stages, especially when they don't really know you and aren't fully invested.

It's the same thing you did in the first place, 'confidence' is the willingness to send it. I swear guys scrutinize their quirky, improvisational, fun messages and sand off all the personality and potential for it to be misinterpreted until it says "Hey". I'm just throwing shit down the tubes man, raw, with the bumpy texture on it.

If I talk to a guy and then they’re like ‘so how about that one on one meetup now?’ it feels threatening and demanding. Just say you really enjoyed meeting her first, see how she responds and then ask her if she’d like to do get together again sometime. Either with friends or just for coffee.

Don't beat yourself up on this one. There's a high chance that her response had nothing to do with you. You can never know what was going through her head.

The best answer to posts like these is to ask your friends in real life. If you're doing something wrong or misreading signals then nobody on reddit is gonna be able to tell. Your friends who were there while you were talking to her will be able to spot it though.
