Another week another field report so let's do this.
This week I only went out one day since I slept for 19 hours over Friday after a sports competition.
So Saturday. I went out with some friends, we met at a club and pretty much nothing happened. I had one drink and then kind of froze and wasn't in the right headspace to open. Thankfully we left soon after and I was able to reset on the walk to the next club.
There was a big line into the next club and I spent most of the time chatting up a group of girls behind us. It didn't go very far, but I worked on the *opener, basic questions, entertaining story, banter* sequence as practice.
We got inside the club but the girls were refused entry since one of them was already drunk. Once inside, we went onto the dance floor and danced.
One thing to note here is that I tried to be on the lookout for IOIs or even a bit of eye contact. I did get one, but when I went over to open the girl turned away and refused to acknowledge me. I live in a city in Australia fairly notorious for it's closed-offness so I'm wondering if part of why I'm having such difficulties is because I'm in a 'hard mode' place.
Anyway, I did verbal openers with few girls: I did a cheers and then a shake hands/what's your name. That convo didn't last long, she was polite enough, but definitely disinterested so I excused myself.
The next girl I held a conversation with for a while. I opened by asking how she got in (pretended she was one of the girls who got refused entry) and then transitioned into a normal flow (who she is, where she's from ect.) That worked pretty well and we were back with her friend chatting away before long. Unfortunately despite her seeming friendly, she wasn't receptive to any escalation. I did a few playful touches, then a longer light shove after a joke, than a hand on the back while telling a story. She held the same interest as at the start, which was polite but not "yes" enthusiasm. I did get her number, but decided to leave it there after that.
It was all downhill from there. Each interaction I had after that lasted less than 30 seconds. I opened with compliments on outfits, questions about drinks and cheers, then followed up with introductions, but didn't get enough interest for the next parts of the sequence. This happened about 6 times, so my volume of approaches was Less than ideal, I still tried.
For the gent who keeps suggesting the shawty app, I can't find it on my android play store. To anyone with advice, please, I welcome it. I've been working on my tone and delivery, I've done my best to get over my approach anxiety and now I'm touching up the basic conversation forms. hopefully I can start attracting girls regularly
