I see a lot of frustration among many men with women cuz many of them think that when a woman says she wants something or complains about something on social media and she goes viral, then that speaks for every woman alive which is a logical fallacy.

"This video said x, lots of people liked this video, therefore x is true for all people".

This video said "gravity doesn't exist, lots of people liked this video and it went viral, therefore it's true that gravity doesn't exist."

This video said a woman expects a man to spend lots of money on a first date, lots of women liked this video, therefore it's true that all women alive expect men to spend lots of money on a first date"

This video said women hate men / or being approached, lots of women liked this video and it went viral, therefore it's true that all women hate men / or being approached.

Your problem is not understanding that preferences are an individual thing, you and i are both men, yet i can assure you that i don't like the same things that you do about a woman.

So if you were to say "we men like x" in a video that went viral, sorry but me and many others wouldn't agree with you even if your clip is liked by lots of men if we don't agree with it. Because "viral and lots of likes" does not mean "absolute truth".

People are unique individuals, not collective hiveminds that all think alike, or like the same things, or prefer the same things. This is why it's dumb to say "what are we supposed to do" because there are no shoulds in life, there is only wants and preferneces. You do what you want, not what society or a viral clip says you should.

The reason those clips go viral is because the algorithm will usually prioritize controversial and polarising takes over boring neutral safe takes. It's easier to go viral if you say "i will k...ill you all if u don't do what i say" than if you say "hey guys, i respect your right to do what u want". That doesn't prove consensus and even if there was a consensus about it among a majority it still wouldn't be binding to all people because arbitrary popular opinions are not legal obligations or legal rights.

Once you learn to think in individual terms, rather than collective terms, you will be free to do whatever the fuck you want and the right people for you will align with you, while the wrong people for you will filter themselves out and that's ok because we are not supposed to do things that everybody likes or approves. It's not our job to be normal, to conform to a "majority" or to follow "social consensus.

Now you might be thinking "ok but i can't know if the specific woman wants me to approach or not when i see one, even if i agree that not all women hate being approached so i'm still stuck"... Well, not really... You approach because you want her, not because you think she wants you cuz no one is entitled to dictate to others whether they can initiate a conversation, at most she would only be entitled to refuse to continue the conversation and walk away after you have initiated it.

Because just like your freedom ends where hers begins, her freedom ends where yours begins. You have agency to invite her to something simply because you give yourself permission, and she has the agency to turn you down. When she exercises her right to turn you down, then you respect it simply becasue you respect her freedom. That's not harassment, harassment would only be if you were to insist after she has already rejected you.
