I was raised by a neofeminist mother (which was a terrible thing, might write about it later if anyone is interested) She taught me under 0 circumstances is it okay for a man to hit a woman, however its fine for a woman to hit a man; and if a guy so much as looks at me wrong he is sexually harassing me, but it was fine for me to leer at guys. I don't understand why that is. What my father taught me was "If anyone hits you hit them back and if you hit anyone you better be ready to get hit back" and "It's just as ok for a guy to look at you as it is for you to look at a guy. But if a guy grabs on you, you can slap him across the face and tell him that he won't do that again, and if you grab on a guy he has every right to defend himself the same way you can". What are your experiences/thoughts on this? Edit: Also what about a man hitting a woman to defend someone the woman was hurting/hitting/sexually harassing? Would an MRA approve of that? I'm still personally conflicted over my dad hitting my mom when she kicked me in the head :/
