Hello Left-Wing Male Advocates! I just happened upon this sub while loafing around.

I come to you as a slight outsider, for I am not left-wing. I am an economically neoliberal, socially first-generation neoconservative, Powell Doctrine civic nationalist. Nonetheless I am a proud advocate of egalitarianism and men and boys. Richard Reeves, Scott Galloway, and Christina Emba are among my favorite speakers on the subject.

I wanted to get a sense of the consensus on the sub. I went to MensLib and... yeah. Less said the better.

I have long maintained that the issues facing men & boys today and indeed the broader Male Loneliness Epidemic are a product of deindustrialization hollowing out the working class and the College For All model exacerbating the issue, in tandem with a faulty but not malicious assumption that men would just "figure out" following the changes to women's rights in the 20th century. And are now being accelerated by the orobourus that is far left equity progressivism (the warped oppressor/oppressed version of Kimberle Crenshaw's concept) and 3rd/4th wave feminism vs reactionary blackpill/redpill/Christian Nationalist "lol based" authoritarian illiberal democracy.

What is the concensus here on the causes of the current dire straights, and what our biggest challenges are?

I would identify;

  1. Mental health and suicide rates

  2. Wage and opportunity stagnation in the working class

  3. Lack of mentorship and knowledge on how to forge and maintain platonic and romantic connection in modern contexts

  4. Opportunistic exploitation and recruitment/radicalization by redpill ecosystems

  5. Cultural/institutional contempt and double standards against men and boys, particularly in higher education, public education, the judiciary, Hollywood, publishing, private sector HR, activist/influencer feminism, talk therapy and marriage counseling. And how this all exacerbates points 1 through 4
