Pursuing sex is normal. Being enticed by attraction is also normal. So many are seemingly lost on or have never known the game, so now any deference towards women commonly gets derided and now you’re a simp for shooting your shot.

Just trying to fuck didn’t used to be socially seen as a bad thing among men. My reason for that belief, it is/was the norm in some personal relationships with other men and is the norm projected in entertainment, movies, tv, and music.

But now, a new school of thought that I see emerging, one that especially gets argued on this sub a lot, that pursing women in ways that “inflate their ego” otherwise thirsting, makes you a simp. I believe the rise in popularity of manosphere is to blame for this but dudes nowadays are always crying about thirsting. If you like her pictures, you’re thirsting. If you compliment her attractiveness, you’re thirsting. If you treat her to a date, you’re thirsting. And if you’re thirsting, you’re simping, but that’s just simply not true.

A simp is someone who pursues boyfriend status despite rejection. Thirsting is pursuing casual sex. Initiative is really all it is. Sex is the goal, men act accordingly to get what they want. So of course he’s going compliment, of course he’s going to go on dates, of course it’s going to “inflate her ego” all of these things are normal. Anyone mad about that or think it’s a bad thing seems to expect that all other men should put his interests, hating women, above their own in sex and that’s just wholly unreasonable.

Thirsting can be detrimental but even the men sending “hey” to the same woman’s dm’s to reply every day aren’t simps. They’re thirsting, detrimentally, but that doesn’t make them simps, they’re just pursuing sex.

All that said, thirsting isn’t simping. Dudes are just trying to fuck and that’s not a bad thing, pursing on that basis is normal. The manosphere’s rise in popularity seemingly has contributed into turning trying to fuck into a bad thing because they think making women feel good is bad and that men are not supposed to do that for the bad implications that it may have despite personal interest.
