Text game can be a powerful tool to keep the flames stoked. Don't let the fire burn out.

Yeah mate, it's just on here it's all about texting only to meet. What kind of angle do i take with texting to keep things moving?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I disagree and always have with that notion. Hop on the main TRP sub's IRC and you'll catch some good text game advice.

I also disagree with texting for logistics only advice. Texting can be used to create attraction. I have done it, many times.

Any specific good links?

[–]AFCdood1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for saying this, it is good to finally see someone with an avatar call that bullshit advice what it is. I think that is perpetuated by a couple 50 yo dudes with no clue about dating young chicks.

I wrote a little bit on what has worked for me, it's probably not perfect but it's better than the 100% failure you will get with just logistics: https://www.reddit.com/r/asktrp/comments/3t0squ/the_girls_i_pick_up_never_respond_when_i_text_them/

This forever. I took that old school no contact expect semantics advice. With younger women especially you need to keep that flame going

[–]shittyjuice551 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I thought texting was only for logistics?

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's an outmoded truth from the beginnings of PUA in the early- to mid-2000s. No longer true when the vast majority of women are glued to their phones all day every day.

[–]Shakedaddy4x4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you're not good at texting though best to go radio silent IMO

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Get better at text game then. Two weeks of radio silence and she will forget about you. She'll flake. Women operate on emotions, and the only way to get them to go out and meet up with you is by making them feel like they want to. Not with logistics.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think that's a general guideline since a lot of people who are just starting out with TRP suck at texting (anecdotal evidence: whenever someone posts a conversation on here). If you're good at texting, it's a plus. If you're bad at texting, you'll shoot yourself in the foot before the race even starts.

is there any way to be good at texting

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Be funny and good at flirting, don't text too much, don't respond right away, don't text all day, no super beta compliments.

This

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

School of hard knocks. Practice and learn from your embarrassing failures and mistakes.

There is no magic wand you can wave in order to become good at texting.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Good morning my flame... my muse... 14 days until our big night..."

Next day.

"How did you sleep my little snowflake? 13 days until our big night..."

Every single day until you see her. JK. It'd be hilarious though.

I've met up with girls 3 weeks or more later before and they didn't flake even though I went radio silent (was on Tinder though so maybe it's diff)

[–]SpinPlates1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

2 weeks? That's an eternity for a single hot girl.

I honestly wouldn't expect to see her unless you can really captivate her with text game.

[–]EndowedTurtle0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

2 weeks in advance is suspect in of itself; how well do you know this girl? She could get extremely bored in the meantime, and might already be planning a sooner date with someone else.

But by all means, go radio silent until the day of to confirm where/when.

Yeah mate i met her in a lecture but we're in exam block atm and she said she's tight for time which i kind of get, but said she's keen to do next week. Yeah okay hopefully works out

[–]Sir_Distic1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remember to text less than she does.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Going radio silent for two weeks is only going to amplify feelings of boredom.

[–]EndowedTurtle2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

He shouldn't have set a date that far out anyway.

[–]gveavbae[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm pretty new to picking up. I went about asking her text-book redpill, but she said she was packed that week studying for a midsem but would do saturday. If there was a way around that let me know so i can avoid this shit next time.

[–]human_enquirer0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm glad this is being brought up. I've got someone to come over to "hang out" on Friday evening. Reality, I think she just wants her computer fixed but I think I'd like to warm up the pan and prime if possible.

Edit: Spelling.

[–]Senior ContributorSkorchZang1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Texting is not a good way to go, when you need to "warm up the pan". You will come at it with typical male passion and "give it your all" to seduce her with your amazing text game, but it will only look try-hard and pathetic in the girl's eyes.

Texting is too easy and "no pressure" for the man, that is why all the betas absolutely love it and can't live without. The girls are well aware of it, and if you seem to lean on texting hard, that will be noticed and held against you.

If you still want a go, best advice I can come up with, is try to focus on creating sexy tension with her. Nothing else, don't try to be smart, or funny, or super cool and accomodating. Do not get all in your head and try to make good a impression, that spells certain doom. Instead create sexy tension with silences, teasing, acting aloof, demonstrating you understand her world perfectly, and engaging her feelings not her rational mind.

[–]JimFury0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with fluviant text game has become pretty vital. Although if you really suck at it maybe just avoid it altogether but texting is such a huge part of how everyone communicates that it's a good skill to learn. Now while I've said that why did you schedule a date so far away. Two weeks is such a long time it's more likely she'll flake in two weeks because the tingles have worn off. Practice your text game if you get good enough with it you can only text a chick and build up everything before hand.

[–]Senior ContributorSkorchZang0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

A good basic rule is 2/3. Meaning, for every two text-sessions you initiate, you allow her to initiate at least 3.

For around every 3 messages she sends you, you send 2, and yours are always shorter/dumber and more lazy.

If this is a completely new girl, first date type deal - then I'd keep as silent as you can. Still respond and make her giggle if she's the one initiating, but keep it short, keep saying "look forward to see you then" and getting off the texting. The more she's wondering what you're so busy with and just how many girls do you have texting you, the better.

The last thing you want is to come across like you're incredibly psyched about this date 2 weeks ahead, and make her the centre of your whole world in the meantime. Do that and you don't stand a chance, she will brutally dispose of you.

[–]idgaf-0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Probably better to use snapchat to share cool moments.

[–]gveavbae[S] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck thats a good one, definitly

[–]BeyondDedication0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Don't text her basic how's it going BS. After you do something interesting shoot her a little text to discuss.

One of my dates for the weekend, i texted her today. "My coworker has two oranges and a banana on her desk and it looks like a dick."

yesss mate this is exactly what i was looking for, wasn't too sure how to play it so thanks
