I think you should choose what works for you and your SO in your situation.
In general, be an adult and talk about problems before someone blows up about it. Brainstorm to try and find a compromise.
Sometimes sacrifices have to be made by all people. Be ready to sacrifice. That does not mean you don't get what you need. Define what you "need" vs what you "want". Sometimes the "wants" have to go unmet for a while.
Being submissive does not mean your needs go unmet. Ask for your needs to be met. Things might get delayed, so be patient. Remind your partner in a nice way.
Find out what makes your SO happy and do it.
Stay fit. Men are very visual and really appreciate a fit woman. There are few excuses to stop exercising.
Don't complain how he does things, instead, just do it yourself. He does horizontal stripes in the lawn, but you want angled stripes? Then go mow the lawn yourself. Don't discourage him from doing work.
If you make a mistake, don't forget to apologize later.
Recognize if your emotions are getting out of control, and do something to get them back under control. Later when you are more calm, admit your mistake and apologize. This is what adults do.
Have a sense of humor, it can help manage stress. A woman with a sense of humor in times of stress is a woman I want to be with.
If you need support from your SO because you've had a bad day, tell him and ask for exactly what you want. Partners should support each other. Men tend to try and fix things, it's part of their nature. If you just want him to listen, tell him that. Don't expect him to read your mind.
If you weren't specific enough when asking for something, blame yourself, not him. Next time be more specific.

All of the above applies to you SO as well.

As a man the simplest, most common, day to day thing that has the potential to aggravate is tone of voice. It seems to undermine a lot of conversations when the words say one thing but the tone says something completely different. Plus there is no point in reacting to the tone because there is plausible deniability.

CHEERFULNESS-- my SO is a high stress dude, hes often angry about the state of the world, he needs me to be cheerful and sunny and WANTING to be cheerful and sunny instead of joining him in his stress has had like a mental muscle memory effect, i AM cheerful and sunny naturally now
calmness and serenity--your moods shouldnt be a fire he always feels like hes trying to put out. men have more easily triggered fight or flight mechanisms, imo
anticipating his needs--this can be hard to do without becoming annoying, takes time and practice. its very difficult for me not to try to offer him food every second lol
receptive--always be ready to accept his advances, even if its just some flirty sexuality thats not going to go anywhere, a lot of women dont seem to get that if they brush their man off with annoyance when he manhandles them in the middle of washing the dishes, he may stop doing it forever, dont do it. be ready to drop what youre doing to have sexytime, its fun, and whatever youre doing can wait
ALWAYS maintain your appearance. this doesnt mean pearls and a 50s housewife dress. my husband LOVES light colored yoga pants (a little too much lol) so i dont have to get dressed up every day, but i always shower and make pretty early and make sure i look nice. for some reason women think the last person they need to look nice for is the man they live with. stupid
care about his health. without nagging. when i take a vitamin every day i make sure i give him one, for example, he'd never take it on his own.
LEAVE HIM THE FUCK ALONE does he have a hobby or interest? does he hang out in the garage for hours tinkering with something? does he like to play Xbox? HE'S HOME and not at the strip club, leave him the fuck alone. he loves you. he needs time to himself. it has nothing to do with you. get a goddamned hobby if he has one. i recommend quilting

Happiness should be your default mode. Nobody likes to be around someone who is angry, sad, condescending, or bitchy. Don't be those things. Nobody can be happy 100% of the time, but your goal should be to shoot as close to 100% as you can get.
Always be respectful of your SO. If you have an opinion about what he's saying or doing, you can share it, but don't come at it with the assumption of that he's wrong. He may see things differently than you, but that doesn't make him wrong. Be respectful by listening to his point of view.
Let him take charge, and make the decisions, this is another sign of respect. Men want to be in charge, they want to lead, all you have to do is get out of their way.
Maintain your attractiveness, this is another sign of respect. Men want to be proud of the person they are walking around with, don't humiliate him by not bringing your best foot forward.
Try to never turn down sex. Sex is what makes men feel loved, cared about, valued, and confident. Every time you turn down sex, it's basically saying to him that you don't really care about him that much.
Don't just do what you're asked, use your creativity to think of what he might want. Give him a back rub, make a meal for him, wake him up with a bj.
Don't nag him about things, if he says he's going to do something, he will do it. His pride won't allow the words "I'll take care of it" to become false. He may do it later than you would have liked, but he will do it. Putting it off until later makes him feel like he's in control of whether or not the thing gets done (rather than feeling like he's doing it because "you told him to"). This relates back to #3.

For other people...

Be kind to people. How you behave and look reflects on your SO, whether or not he's around. Be the kind of person he would want you to be while he's around even while he's not around. Plus it's good practice.
While you should try to be "nice" to people you don't owe them anything. You don't owe them respect, you don't owe them "niceness", and you don't have to do what they say. If someone doesn't deserve common curtesy, don't give them any.

Wow.. I actually wrote a list a while ago that falls into this. This list is not 'rules' as much as share the motivations behind my actions. As many pointed out already all relationships are different. I used this as a way to try and feel out for myself and of course share with SO some of the 'thought waves' I had. Please note: If anyone would like to help me reword 27 to be a bit more understandable that would be kinda awesome.

Let the seduction and flirting never stop. At this point, you know where the 'on' buttons are.. so why not?
Spend any jealous energy being the better option. After all: “The tighter your grip, the more star systems slip through your fingers.”
No secrets, but always surprises that do not have to be saved for certain days.
Respect space and time with friends.
NEVER restrict contact with anyone.. friends or ex's. No excuses.
Be attentive, respond accordingly. (The fact that the mere word 'attentive' from a female seem to classify as 'kink' is enraging)
Communicate, don't make him guess if or why you are angry or bothered by something. If you have to walk away to think of the right words, just tell him that.
When you think he is checking something or someone out, he is probably imagining it on you. This is tricky. I don't ignore this, I pay attention and encourage it. It gives me wonderful idea on clothes or hair preferred. Movies and TV are a great way to get input as well.
Dress as if you are still dating and enjoy the thrill.
Don't keep him waiting, plan ahead as much as possible.
Be his escape, relaxation and peace. (Then he won't need to 'escape' from you)
Never counter or harsh correct before others, especially kids. Offering an escaped word can be good though. (It's really great when 'escaped words' are given too)
Be grateful for the things that made you fall in love with him in the first place and remind him of them when he does.
Never downgrade to put down in front of others. Hell.. play him up!
Even in play and pet names, let them reflect the love in front of others. (Nothing remotely insulting)
The journey isn't over. Always be open to experiment … yes in 'that' way too.
Know the difference between “maybes” and “limits” Keep “limits” specific and those “maybes” might become a “Hell Yes!”
Share places you may have done and gone many times before. You have a new set of eyes to make the familiar new again.
Speaking for you just means he knows you. (Nothin' spells Lovin' like him ordering your coffee before you have to even think about it! :D ) If you feel you should clarify then do so calmly and preferred in private.
Do NOT compete or “One-Up” in front of others. Why on earth would you want to? Friendly contest is one thing but to feel the need to look better than 'your other half' is just plain weird.
Everything you say or do should be done as if he was right at your side. How you act or speak to others should not change.
Question to inspire thought, question to know more of him, but observe as well.
Your 'time' is NEVER EVER an excuse to be 'bitchy' or 'moody'. It is NOT a free pass to treat anyone like crap and certainly not him. I don't care how bad they are. No excuse. If you are in pain.. tell him.
Some of his likes may not be yours but either give him space to enjoy or enjoy with him. Restricting or complaining can lead to limiting.
Do not have taboo subjects or 'minefield' conversations where either must walk on eggshells about anything. Either address it or suck it up and be glad you are who is turned to.
Be open and laid back. Be the one that says what they mean. “Whatever is good, Sweetheart.” actually means that. Do not have any guessing/trap or trick questions or statements.
If the hard/ insulting tone you used to him, you would get pissed if you heard it coming from someone else.. you shouldn't either. The 'status' or dynamic of basic respect shouldn't change just because you are together.
Do not punish him for crimes of your previous experiences. Do not assume he has the bad traits of people in your past.

Like I said this was my list, to explain my own mindset but might help.

I saw on here once that there is no "good" or "right" just compatible. I agree with that and I think you should take it to heart. To me, an implied aspect of RPW is that you and your partner are unique for each other so don't be worried about an absolute standard but think about are there aspects of your relationship that need tending to that are unique and specific to your relationship.

Never talk too much about the men in your life if you are single and dating. If you do, be really vague about it. Eg: "what happened between you and John? You guys were cute together" "Oh it didn't work out, but there are no hard feelings between us" "Oh so you broke up?" "Yes" "Why?" "It didn't work out. But there are no hard feelings between us"

And if you are talking to a man you like or are in a relationship take extra precautions not to talk about other men, unless it's a safety thing and you want him to protect you from a dangerous creep. Don't say " oh at the grocery store 3 guys gave me their number lool!" Men unconsciously identify with the man getting rejected in the story, and if you talk about other men they get jealous/ mad/ hurt even if it's unconscious.

If he asks you about other men then be honest but not slanderous and keep things simple. Once you get really serious you can go into more detail about sensitive personal important things (eg he cheated/ hit me/ big things) but not into detail about argument things ( like we broke up since he was really annoying )

Good: "weren't you dating Joey this year? What happened between you and him?" "Well we broke up because he got into grad school on the opposite coast and neither one of us felt that long distance was right when we were together for only a couple months. I hope he's happy, and I don't have hard feelings"

Bad: "that douchebag dumped me when he moved to Seattle! He told me he loved me then dropped me in a snap when he got that prestigious job! I hate him!!!"

Just be a pleasant person to be around and find enjoyment in doing nice things for others. Make sure your SO knows you love him and find him attractive.
