1950s housewife advice is actually really good advice. A lot of ladies just see it as purely sexist when it was a system that did (and still does) work. Of course, some of this stuff is old fashioned and may be irrelevant (lighting a fire, for instance; the equivalent would be to turn up the heater), but it's still good.

I agree with all of this. I think this is more suited to women who are stay at home mothers and 'home-makers', wherein your full time is literally that - a home maker. If your man provides for you, it's only fair you provide for him.

People complain about how terrible and sexist this is, but how great is the opposite? I know plenty of people who (miserably) live the opposite:

Cook? Right, whatever. Have nothing ready for dinner, or even any ideas for dinner. Suggest yet another night of cheap, fatty takeout or fast food.
If coming home from work, change into baggy sweats and a grubby tee shirt. If not working, don’t bother changing out of yesterdays baggy sweats and grubby tee shirt. Comfort first. If he doesn't like it, tough.
Be happy and interesting? Whatever. Ask about his day to be polite. Be sure to ask in such a way that doesn’t show any real interest or invite further discussion. Change the subject to how your day was if necessary.
The house is a mess. If he wants it clean he can do it himself.
Cater to his comfort? No thanks, I will cater to my own and if he wants to be comfortable that is up to him to take care of.
Eliminate noise? What noise? It isn't laundry week, and I only vacuum when it gets really dirty. If the kids and/or pets are tearing ass all over the house, then so be it. He can deal with them if he doesn't like it.
I’m happy to see that he is home so that I can tell him what a horrible day I had, and to remind him yet again that X, Y, and Z needs to be taken care of.
Late for dinner? Kill two birds with one stone: bitch at him until you feel better and add even more time to the sex moratorium.
Get him a drink? How about he get off his ass and get me one?
Whine, bitch, rant, raise your voice, complain, wheedle, you get the idea. Use a low and pleasing voice for passive aggressive digs.
Tell him what decisions to make. Make him regret it if he doesn't do what you want, and keep at him until he caves in.
You know your place. Make sure he knows his.

I try to follow these guidelines as basic reverence and respect to my husband. He has read over these with me and pointed out the ones he wants me to follow specifically. I find these sites a good tool when I bring them to his attention, to be more personally suited to his tastes in what he desires in his wife. We add our own rules to the lists like these. I think this is a great start for any woman who wishes to be obedient, loving and feminine. I am the home maker type, so much of my day is focusing on how to take care of what we have and how to improve around the house and in our relationship. He tells me how exciting it is to be greeted at the door, and for me to remove his jacket he says makes him feel both loved and powerful.

I don't even think this is that radical or see how people could have an issue with it, except maybe the part about how wives should know their place. Being nice and pleasant when your SO comes home, and making them feel comfortable however possible - that should be common sense for everyone, shouldn't it?

Pretty good list, but the offering to take his shoes off made me laugh. I can only imagine the laughter my SO would have if I offered to do that. Maybe I'll just offer to massage his feet instead

Is this supposed to apply to women who work full time or at least as much as their husbands do or just to women who stay home as homemakers?
