We actually have pretty different eating habits.

Breakfast: he eats it and I usually don't. When I do, we have different tastes. I would rather have eggs/bacon/protein or some fresh fruit and he likes a carb fest- cereal, waffles, muffins.

Lunch: he likes to eat out at work (Taco bell, raising canes) and I eat at home or bring my lunch, or if I do eat out I like to go somewhere semi-healthy like subway or chipotle.

Dinner: the only meal where we usually eat the same things. He definitely likes the more unhealthy things I make though! Heavy sauces, honey glazed meat, etc.

Snacks: he likes chips and salty stuff, I have a sweet tooth.

Drinks: he drinks a LOT of soda and I drink water almost exclusively.

Like I said, really different! It can be a struggle going grocery shopping because I have to keep track of all the things he likes but I never used to buy, like cereal, soda, etc. There has been a couple times where I get annoyed at how expensive his convenience stuff is. Why do you have to spend so much going out for lunch when I could make you something to bring, make breakfast instead of expensive cereal, just drink water instead of soda??? But he likes those things, so ::shrug:: It was (and still is) hard to bite my tongues sometimes. I also worry about his health, which he knows...

Omg ...my bf will eat anything that's not nailed down. And eats sooo fast. He's done with the whole meal by the time I've finished my salad. It's crazy we are 2 totally different people.

Our eating habits are fairly different.

C will eat practically anything (has a small list of dislikes) and really loves his proteins to death (except seafood). Doesn't like most veggies (but will eat a salad).

I have a large list of dislikes due to having sensitive taste buds and enjoy my protein as well (except red meats). Can't stand most veggies (can't even enjoy a salad).

Breakfast: We usually "skip" breakfast but we love our breakfast foods. I'm primarily a carbs person for breakfast (part of why I don't eat it), but I love omelettes. C likes his little breakfast sandwiches and a lot of protein.

Lunch: Usually something small, like snack sized. Often leftovers from something we've cooked or when we ate out for dinner.

Dinner: Varies, really. Primarily Mexican food, though.

Our eating habits have always been completely out of sync. When we were dating, Tums became a new food group for me.

Now that we're married, he's still a meat and (fried) potatoes kind of guy. Think bland, bland, bland and fried. So I compromise. I make a full healthy meal of stuff that I know he'll like, and then add on yummy veggies or more exotic things that I like.

Since we have kids, it's important to set an example of a balanced diet, and I'm so impressed with him. He eats stuff he really doesn't like so he can be a strong example for them. His own father didn't do that for him, so I think he is just amazing for being willing to do that.

Other than that...he likes a big breakfast; I like toast. That's really only a factor on weekends, where he makes "Daddy breakfast" (much fancier and more substantial that Mommy breakfast)...and I still eat toast and coffee. If we are all at home, we eat every meal together. I cherish meal times, and he also thinks it's important to sit down together as a family. I'm so aware of how much we are truly grown ups now when DH is sitting at the head of the table at dinner time.

We both enjoy cooking and are not picky eaters which means we have a lot of variety in our meals and that we don't at all mind eating healthily.

We have slightly different interests in snack food so when we have treats he goes for the sweet chocolate things and I go for salty pickled flavours. Because of this I've learned to make pudding and pie and other things he loves.

We both came into our relationship with similar food preferences. I don't think I have a gluten intolerance, but man do I feel better when I don't have it. I was effectively paleo when we met. For him, pasta makes him look pregnant (no joke) so he avoids that. It works out well. He eats whatever I put in front of him. I buy or sometimes make bread or other baked goods for him, as he still loves his sandwiches ;) we have a running joke about when we need to buy groceries it doesn't matter what we get as dinner is almost always "meat and veggies", lunch is leftover meat and veggies, I rarely eat more than an egg or premade egg dish on the run in the morning, and he eats cereal. In short, apart from buying the odd loaf of bread or box of cereal, we eat the same meals.

He does like that I like "real meat" I.e. meat with bones. We eat chicken thighs often, and the pork ribs I make are his favourite, and arguably one of the things that made him fall in love with me. A silly thing, but his exes would often only eat meat that wasn't easily identifiable as meat (fish sticks, chicken breasts etc.)

We eat exactly the same thing, and I prepare all of the meals. We follow a somewhat unconventional diet, which he has researched extensively, so when he decided to subscribe to our current diet, I decided to try it as well, both because I trust him and because it is simply easier for us to eat the same things as a cohabiting couple.

Our eating habits are night and day. I'm vegetarian. He is all about meat. I cook pretty much 100% of the food in our house so I usually just cook a meaty dinner for him and I snack on side dishes.

My eating habits aren't very good lately.. whereas he's pretty disciplined because he's on a weight loss quest.

i'm pretty lucky to have a man who will eat a wide variety of food including veggies! neither of us like breakfast and tend to prefer salty snacks to sweets. the only real difference is that he indulges in fast food more often and loves tex mex which isn't super common where i live. (i do like it though) but we're even on the same page when it comes to preferred fast food chains and beverages.

cooking for him isn't a challenge and i plan on doing more of it next time he visits.

our preferences have always been in sync and i honestly don't see how we could adapt any further. :)
