Hey, ladies!
I've been introspecting a bit and I've been curious on what you ladies would have to say about this. I am going into my second year of college and I tend to go for guys 2-5 years older than me. I have never had good experiences with men too close to my age so I tend to avoid them.
When dating guys a couple years older, they tend to be either just finishing up college/uni or be in a position where they have just started their careers. With this, they tend to be a lot more independent than me (having their own place, car, having finances somewhat in order). They are a lot more knowledgeable than me in regards to these topics, and as someone who wants to become more independent, they are a great resource for me. I often ask them questions about them and get advice from them.
As most of these dating situations never progress to exclusivity, I end up just "using" them for any advice they have and then rejecting them once they screw something up or find some incompatibility. Is this a bad idea? My female friends my age are at the same life stage as me and don't have much advice for me. Especially in regards to moving out or getting a car, for example, and trying to find the exact answers to the questions I come up with on the web can be quite laborious. My parents do not support me becoming more independent so they don't help me.
I worry that asking for too much advice might create a weird dynamic should the relationship hypothetically progress... As in him developing a superiority complex over me or something. Is this a true concern? Should I just stick to using Google?
Thank you in advance!
