TL;DR My wife snitched on me to my mother

It's Christmas eve, I had just finished dinner and a buddy of mine asks if I wanna smoke some weed. It's been awhile(before I got married), so I agree and go toke up.

Not sure what strain this was or what but I felt like shit. I go to bed to chill a bit, my wife notices that I am acting strange, so I tell her I smoked some weed.

Now, why did I tell her? Because we've discussed marijuana at length and she never led me to believe she was against it, in fact she gave the opposite impression.

I don't want to get into what happens next, long story short: my mother is extremely controlling and threw a shit fit. She also informed my buddies family that he is doing drugs.

The fuck do I do about my wife? I am quite shocked still. I did not expect this whatsoever - my wife and mother barely speak. My wife basically ruined Christmas, implicated myself, my buddy, and my brother, broke up a very good family friendship, all at once.

I don't believe she did this specifically to harm others - she says it's because she thought I would devolve into extreme addiction and die or whatever. Yeah... She also clearly underestimated my mother. I likely won't ever see my buddy again...

How do I proceed?

UPDATE: Played some dread game. Told her if she does shit like that again I'd leave her.

I do see now though (thanks to all of the replies) that the real issue is the power my parents have over me. Clearly my wife saw this, and is why she went to them in order to get what she wanted from me. I'm already considering steps to gain complete independence from them.
