This is a classic example of the fact that women cannot be attracted to men that they do not look up to. The thing is there is nothing to this type of female seduction, because women can get sex from any man that they want, there’s no magic to it. What she can't do is respect the men that she has "under her power".

Case 1:

I’m not even interested in this man. I’ve promised him that when the battery runs out on my laptop I will let him buy me a tequila shot.

Her indifference and lack of respect for men can be shown by "allowing" him to buy her something. It should be noted that buying her a drink is a point of privilege, and isn't something that she allows to just anyone. Furthermore, she has no interest in the man that she just successfully picked up. You may argue that pick up artists are not always interested in sex with all the women who are interested in them, but at least they are interested in the ones they do pick up, so let's continue.

Case 2:

The unfortunate thing about successfully pursuing the men you idolize is that you get close enough to them to see their faults, the cracks on their pedestals.

Here's the kicker, right here. By looking to men as potentially "unattainable", she is able to look up to them, and even "pedestalizes" them. She's able to do that until she can get them to follow her like a doggie following a biscuit. Once she realizes they will follow her unconditionally, she sees them as having "cracks in their pedestals". They no longer have interest to her, because they no longer are the aloof, risk-adverse men, that she would find attractive. They all have a case of the dreaded "one-itis".

Case 3:

More damagingly, pick-up has permitted me to stay in unhealthy relationships far longer than I should. I have become so good at seducing that I am able to keep someone with me even if they’re not a good fit for me, even if they’re never going to treat me well, even if they don’t really want a relationship. It’s a Midas touch.

Some of these guys don't even want a relationship! Her so called "Midas Touch" of guaranteed sexual attraction can either get her a man she's not interested in to want a relationship with her, or "just sex" with the men that she is interested in a relationship with. This woman's problem of getting "men who either just want sex, or below her standards" is not caused by her "Midas Touch", and is nothing new, this is a problem experienced by many, many women. So her "Midas Touch" didn't cure anything, it just aggravated the problem.

Case 4:

And my deepest hope is that one day I will find the man who sees me for who I am

And as typical, she blames her problem on the fact that she hasn't "met the right guy". You'd think a woman who could attract nearly any guy she wanted would have better luck "finding the right guy". But alas. Maybe the problem is that she can't respect any of these guys. Maybe the problem isn't finding the "right guy", but instead "being the right girl".

And my deepest hope is that one day I will find the man who sees me for who I am, who loves the nerdy awkward high school me who needed to be loved so much that she learned all of this crap, and who loves the icon that I’ve become today because he sees how much passion has gone into creating it.

Somewhere out there is a man who wants as his partner a woman who has delved so deeply into her own self-image that she’s come out on top of it, tits perked and guns blazing, and when I meet him, I’ll know exactly how to approach him and make him mine. It’s what I do.

She completely understands game, but she still doesn't have it all. She still doesn't realize that she is only going to be attracted to a man that is her superior. And she has a very very unhealthy superiority complex.

I’m not saying that pick-up has always been hearts and flowers. The unfortunate thing about successfully pursuing the men you idolize is that you get close enough to them to see their faults, the cracks on their pedestals. It isn’t that I expect men to be perfect; it’s that it’s heartbreaking when their frailties end up being prohibitive to intimacy with them.

Still, there is a lot to learn from her experiences. She is quite amazing and has lead an amazing life story.

This part was so true that I couldn't help but laugh:

The more I hung around the pick-up artists, the more infuriated I became with women’s relationship literature. During those years I read it all, eager to suck up any knowledge that would further aid me in getting the man (or men) of my dreams. What I found was that the books for women that were on the shelves in Barnes & Noble were the most pathetic, disenfranchising, unfeminist tomes I could have dreamt up.

Watch out for the comments. A few whales have come out who feel entitled to share their wisdom despite their inability to attract quality men. Some of their info is right but its very hard to take it at face value when they are too lazy to hit the treadmill.

@Invisible Visible - Well, that's pretty much gross. I don't see "conform to society's ideal" as matching up with her supposed message of empowerment at all. "Be what they want" isn't really my bag.

This is kind of sad. I actually had a bit of online interaction with Arden years ago, when I was more into pickup. She was pleasant as punch. I hope things work out for her.
