Bar/Club is crap. It basically artificially inflates women's SMV to the max and everything involved is tilted far in their favor.

You would have to be a fool to go to a club looking to find women to bang. Remember there are women literally everywhere you go unless you go to like a gay bar or mason meeting or something like that. There are opportunities everywhere to talk and flirt with women you just need to seize them.

I think going to stores is a good place to start. You can tell a lot about a woman by where she shops.

I mean there is a difference in demographic from people shopping at Walmart vs those shopping at say Costco.

I dont know man, I have a pretty good sucess rate picking up girls in clubs/bars.

I dont buy drinks for girls though, not worth it.

Hit the nail on the head in multiple ways.

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I try to avoid the bar and club scene because the combination of alcohol and late nights is bad for gains. I posted a douchy flexing pic and did quite well with online dating.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So this. I feel out of place not drinking in these environments and the de facto conversation opener is "why aren't you drinking?". Plus the side effects are not worth the social lubrication imo.

[–]Senior Contributor: "The Court Jester"GayLubeOil2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People who entertain themselves by sedating themselves with alcohol are boring. Lift or grill with some bros and ull have a better time. Women who dont drink are more attractive anyway.

Yeah, this irks me a lot too. I don't want to lose my gains!

Clubs aren't for me, still from time to time, when there's a good DJ, I will go there with my close buddies and enjoy the music.

What I usually am in for: Private or house parties.

It's always a smooth evening. If you have a good cirlce of friends, there will be quality people at those parties. You can back yourself up with social proof and status, when you know a lot of people you can also let preselection do work for you.

Then, the biggest plus is the atmosphere. No one is primarily in there to hook up, yet everyone would be in for it. So it's an evening full of very relaxed interactions and when you run game, girls will just wait and see where it leads.

[–]scarletspider32 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I used to go to the bar alot cause I had a great strategy for it. I used to work as a FedEx delivery guy and I used to encounter literally hundreds of receptionist (women) and I used to practice running game on them. So after work I used to go to the bar in the area. It was usually filled with woman from the route that I already built attraction with and their friends. It was the ulitmate strategy cause I had the social proof before I even walked it. Now as an older guy I really don't go anymore cause I'm more focused on getting my money right.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

social proof as a delivery guy?

Day Game > Bar/Club Game. I like libraries, bookstores, coffee shops, grocery stores, outdoor public events(check your city), and even in dancing. Club game is far too chaotic and usually a sausage fest and Bar game is mediocre at best.

[–]Mightaswellmakeone7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I did the club thing up until last year. I think most guys will tell you only certain type of women go there. I disagree with this point. I've met pretty much every type of woman there.

I stopped because of the specific hours, timing, and energy required to get women there.

Now I find women through various social gatherings or hobbies. I also have lived in large cities while making this change. I think that helps if you're trying to make things sex based within two meetings.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think most guys will tell you only certain type of women go there.

It's the same as AWALT/NAWALT... if 90-95% of the women that go there are a certain type you might as well treat them all like they're that certain type.

[–]Mightaswellmakeone3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, it's not the same. I'm not talking about the AWALT thing at all. I'm not talking about how to treat them.

I'm talking about the personalities and interests of the women. I've heard many men say that the women at clubs are all the same personality/interests wise. That's what I disagree with.

Outdoors women? Found them at the clubs. Women who enjoy watching and doing sports? Found them at the club. Scientists who like talking about Dawkins? Club. Women who are only interested in material things and pop culture? Club. Foreign chicks? Club. Teachers, nurses, professional equestrians? ---> Da clubs

The percentages may vary, but all types of women go there.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women who go to clubs are there for one reason only... to gorge themselves on male attention like a fat man at an all you can eat buffet.

[–]1KyfhoMyoba-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All types of women go to clubs, because all types of women love male attention.

[–]TheOneTrueMagnet8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Go to a dance studio and start taking classes. They are always looking for males since it is mostly females. There is no downside.

  • It is a clam fest.
  • You are forced to socially and physically interact with the women there.
  • You learn a skill that will you meet and interact with women outside the class.
  • The people in these classes will often go to dance halls outside of class. These women will know you and want to dance with you. Preselection anyone?
  • Dancing sets you apart from other men. Most don't to do it because they are nervous and too scared to learn. You can use it to show that you are dominant, strong, and skilled.

If you are in the southern U.S., I would suggest starting with country dancing. Otherwise(or next), learn salsa and its relatives. From there you can learn swing dancing to really set yourself apart.

[–]feelinglazy3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I learned swing dance for a while and found it very goofy, not really good for social dancing.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Swing is a bit goofy, yes.

Blues Dancing, on the other hand.

Salsa is a great dance style to learn, especially here in the southwest U.S.

[–]feelinglazy0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tried blues once and love it. Too bad the instructor left and there's no class nearby.

[–]Icecoffee9651 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Try out salsa... most guys can't do it and it looks great as hell when doing it properly with a woman

[–]Jessie_James0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I disagree. I took swing lessons for a few years, and had some very "close" moves. There were plenty of attractive women, and more often than not they'd be asking me to dance after seeing me dance with someone else. It was easy pickings.

Maybe you needed more practice? (Just kidding!)

[–]MetacognitiveMan1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with this this 100%. Interest in couples dancing is almost always female dominated. There will be some effort involved to become a good lead. But once you get there, women will be dying for you to ask them to dance. It is a real display of higher value.

[–]1KyfhoMyoba1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can confirm. I [M50+] was dating a woman [30, 8-9 HB] who was my ballroom dance instructor some 10 years earlier. We went to a college town bar, packed with kids less than half my age. Now, I'm a pretty good ballroom dancer, but she's amazing, and ballroom dancing is all about showing of the lady. There's a lot of popular music that you can ballroom dance to (swing, cha-cha, salsa, if you have room you can tango but you usually don't-it's a travelling dance and the others aren't). When we would take breaks, I got approached more than I have ever been in my life. By that I mean that if you add up all the other times that women (girls, really) have cold approached me and hit on me, the majority (vast majority) of them would be this occasion.

Pre-selection is awesome. Especially if you're older like me.

[–]feelinglazy0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Swing is not really ballroom. It's more of a social dance.

[–]themasterof2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I go to clubs/bars because its a good place to meet women, no other reason. The club/bar in itself is not fun, except for the alcohol and women. Flirting with women is the only thing that makes it fun, and I feel like its more acceptable to flirt a lot in the bar/club scene, so thats where I go.

[–]1TVTestPattern1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Live music venues... works especially well if you know the performers.

If you are a performer it's a cakewalk.

Check out the local open mic events.

[–]Amusiastudio1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As a front man for a band, it's fairly easy.

[–]TheRealMewt1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I still like going to bars and clubs, but I go there specifically for the music. Rarely do I flirt with girls there because I'm looking for more of a LTR and I don't think anyone trusts a club girl to be long term material these days.

[–]watersign3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yes, not into it at all since im short. i used to prowl online (pof, etc) but have stopped. managed to bang a few girls off it but realized i was wasting alot of time

[–]SirClassyAnon1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have had most of my success at a Magic the Gathering tournaments. Once I flirted with the female pizza delivery person. The restraining order expires in 37 days, at which point I shall finally woo her.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I lol'd. Perhaps asking to show her your Black Lotus right out of the gate was a bad play.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've always hated the club scene because it's overcrowded and people act like complete jackasses when they get drunk. It's not my idea of fun. Ill go to a bar at a restaurant though with some friends because it's smaller and much easier to conversate. I like to keep it simple, nothing over the top.

[–]Transmigratory0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They're not bad. Though I think it could be an age thing too. As you get older, you're less likely to want to go into the club.

Being in my early 20s, clubs are a viable option for me. When am reaching my 30s, I expect to be less of a viable option.

[–]Tengujin0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can tell you as someone who night club DJed for a couple years in different countries, clubs and bars are about one thing. The whole industry is about selling alcohol, nothing else matters. I should also remind everyone that modern game or "Mystery" era game was ALL about night clubs or bars. Mystery even admitted that most(80%+ i think) of his pulls were from clubs in his book. When I found that out I started taking him with a grain of salt. Then, the difference between "night game" and "day game" was born.

Outdoor festivals or other activities outside. 5ks are almost always a majority of women and they are interested in physical activity. Museums are always a good place too because it gives you license for fantasy. Activities are necessary if you don't live in a big city because otherwise day game is difficult and risky. You won't see anyone in my local grocery worth picking up on unless you want to hang out in there for days at a time(or you have a thing for unkempt moms)

[–]throwyawayee0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I go hiking and jogging also swimming and biking opposed to going to bars

[–]derkonigistnackt0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I live in a big city so I go to meetups (karaoke, tandem, video club) and couch surfer events. Yeah, bars/clubs are shit.

[–]the_red_scimitar0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These days, almost all new women I meet are from online dating sites. A very, very tiny percentage are through social contacts in real life. I have never even tried picking up a random woman at bars. Prior to online, it was always through social contacts, a couple time it was girls I was in a band with.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty much the same things you dislike... I come from a culture where having a good time means friends getting together at someone's house and socializing in the true sense of the word (interacting, conversation, sharing foods together, drinking together without blacking out, etc). Having experienced that, clubs/bars seem utterly pointless. Unless there's free pool, then I'm in.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I dislike picking up chicks at bars, but I'll still go out with friends for fun. I don't really have anything in common with the types of girls I met in clubs/bars. Most of them are airheads who despite being sexy, aren't worth the time and effort. Most of them are pretty used up too and suffering severe psychological disorders.

I know there's cities/venues where the demographic is not like this, but it is in my town.

[–]rohpatem2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The reason why I like the club is because it is loud and dark, so that when I approach and get rejected, I can just move to another area and not feel so bad. I know I should be doing day game, but right now I'm too scared to do it in broad daylight. There is something to be said about which venue you use and what the best strategy works in that particular place.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Recognizing that you do in fact have an ego that can be bruised is important. I see too many comments here by guys who are probably talking about things "in theory" who suggest your ego should not matter at all. Or that you should have an indestructible ego capable of brushing off rejection in 1 tenth of a second.

For real human beings in actual social situations either avoiding or mitigating rejection (yours is a good example) actually matters. That doesn't mean you can let fear of rejection turn you into a cripple but at the same time you can't pretend rejections have zero impact (down that road is bitter misogyny).

[–]BedlamStatesman-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm already in an LTR with a cute, redheaded bookworm, but even if I weren't in an LTR, I wouldn;t be frequenting the bar scene. My "type" of woman is a bit different than your typical bar skank or club slut. As for the bars and clubs themselves, if I want to drink booze that I pay a multiple-times markup for, I'll go home and water down some scotch with tap-water (A travesty, I know, but it fits the scenario for our purposes). At least then I can drink my watered-down booze without having to deal with the gagging smell of menthol smokes, a urine-soaked bathroom, and drunken douchebags looking to turn everything into a fight.

As for the clubs, I prefer to get my dance scene at the raves. Folks at the clubs around here are WAY uptight and too highly strung. At least at the raves, everyone's there to have a good time. The general attitude seems to be "Well, I didn't get laid, but at least I had fun." Club girls can be bitches, and that's never appealed to me, personally. If I want a slutty girl with Daddy-issues to grind on my junk, who'll turn around and be a major bitch two seconds later, I'll pay some girl at a gentleman's club to do it.

Personal prowling grounds here would be the Library, Bookstores, and Athletic Fields...maybe a public park, occassionally.

Not into chicks who drink alcohol. I think alcohol is disgusting, so bars/clubs are out for me. And no, I'm not Muslim.

I'm all about some Netherlands-style parties though. Qlimax, Thunderdome, etc.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I still pick up women are bars/clubs on occasion. It's fun to watch the big boys give me the eye when I take home a beautiful lady to bang. Other than that, I hate clubs/bars. Overpriced, too loud to hear, and most of the people there are contrived and not funny. I usually day game at meetups, coffee shops, lake walks, and at stores.

[–]kempff-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Me neither. I see drunk people doing and saying really stupid things, and I know so do I when I drink, so I only go out occasionally, and only with friends I trust.

Everyone else has already listed all of the things I don't like about the scene, but I just want to emphasize the sheer emptiness and stupidity of the environment. It's especially palpable if you are the only sober person in the room. What a drag.
