How to respond to a guy in my friend group who challenges me or asks questions like “what would u do if I hit you in the back of the head” I assume he’s trying to evoke a reaction or seem cool in front of the group. But I just don’t know which way to respond? Aggressively or passively?

Where I grew up we had a saying; "talk shit; get hit.

However you choose to respond u/rockyp32 in my experience; escalate the situation to violence only if you're willing(and able) to go all the way. If you do so; your biggest advantage is surprise; hit first and hit hard.

If it doesn't bother you; dismiss it by simply replying; "there's only one way you'll find out." Hopefully you're hitting the gym and the heavy bag.
