Children are small ergo all short men are children.

Legit logic for most women, apparently.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Eh, I think we're starting to see more subversive forms of illogical hate since the major ones have been relatively flushed out of being appropriate to openly declare (racism and sexism), so a lot of the stupider humans among us need to vent an open hate to keep themselves from exploding.
So they start to openly hate more trivial qualities that won't necessarily get them ostracized, ergo..."heightism".
Personally, I'm 5'7" and could give a fuck less, considering that still makes me taller than a good 80% of women, but it's also nothing to be worried about because if some chick is already hung up on height, that's likely just the tip of the monster iceberg of bullshit she's hoarding in that irrational head of hers.
To women, height is just another "justification" to act like a bitch.

Short guys exist because of millions of years of genetic memory being passed down to this very day.
Chill the fuck out cunts.

Meh, I'm 5'8" (I should note that I live in Germany and that's quite a bit below average for a male around here - everywhere I go, I'm surrounded by giants) and it's never really been an issue. I've dated 5'9" girls who wore 4" heels...
Just make sure you're proportionately built (i.e. put on or lose the appropriate amount of fat and muscle mass) and you'll be fine.
[–]farbenwvnder 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm 6' and still feel like I'm surrounded by dudes bigger than me in Germany

Tell me about it... I just got a new flatmate and he has to duck when he goes through our doorways (which are what... 2m?). WTF... :D

As an average looking 5'6" Asian with low testosterone, TRP is so bitter and tough to swallow. I polarize quickly, but I only see maybe one girl a year who shows interest to me. But they always have low self-esteem, and no personality whatsoever. Sigh. Wonder when it's gonna get better for me.

Me too. But have you tried fixing things?
low testosterone
get shots from your doctor
average looking
lift. dress nice. groom.
[–]KoreanBoy11 points 11 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
Yea. I have been doing all those things for 2-3 years except getting shots. I find that it's hard to get trt if you are under 30. I have 6 more years to go. I also go pick up women without much success.
[–]Schrodingersdawg 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depends on your medical provider. I got tested and if I wasn't at normal levels, I could've gotten shots. Try looking up ways you can improve your T without shots, though.
The vibe (or tone for those anal english majors out there) of your comments seem to be self defeating. Low confidence is a killer.
Try telling yourself that you're the shit, you're the fucking best guy ever on this earth. And eventually, you'll believe it and things will change because girls have some sort of radar for that confidence crap.

Sigh. Wonder when it's gonna get better for me.
It will get better as soon as you stop seeing yourself as a victim and learn how to use game properly.
[–]KoreanBoy1 1 points1 points1 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Yea. I got you. I do that well when I'm on a wave of success, but past couple days have been wave of failure so I just went back to that mindset, but I know what to do. I'm just recognizing the harsh reality. It only reminds me that how much work I still have to do, and how great it will be at the end. All good.

Feeling down? Need a pick up? Read this book bro:

I'm not being an asshole. That book is awesome and will change your life if you take it seriously.

i'm a short dude too at 5'7. the fact is that short men and ugly women are in the same boat: we are genetically inferior according to our mating instincts. accept it and move on.
while it's true that tall men are more likely to succeed in business and politics due to the same instincts, your height won't matter a bit if you actually work to make yourself valuable. my dad is 5'6 or 5'7, and he's the VP of a renowned oil exploration company. he's got 10 or 15 patents to his name, and his scientific discoveries have changed the business. he's been married to my hot, awesome mom for over 35 years. in all the photos i've seen of my parents with their peers, my mom is always the hottest even though she's 62 years old.
don't use your height as an excuse. forget about it and go out an make something of yourself instead of whining like tumblr-ite.

I'm 5'6" and half the women I've dated have been taller than me. I used to think being short was a disadvantage, but I've come to see it as an advantage instead. The reason is it acts as a filter to automatically repel the most superficial females hung up on height. I also consciously choose to wear glasses instead of contacts because again, it's an automatic filter to repel superficiality. The girls I date who are okay with my height and my glasses turn out to be at least more interesting to be around than your average club bimbo.

Not all women have the height thing going.
I always thought tall men looked out of proportion at times (look at basketball players. Their heads look too small)
Shorter men have better bodies-they get a better "V" in the torso.
And they are known to be taller where it counts.
I have 1 brother who is 5'7" and he always had girls chasing him.
Besides, it's hard enough to find a guy you like; if you add a height requirement, good luck.

We don't live in jungles anymore... and we have means, services and law enforcement now to help us survive too. So... that's pretty poor reasoning. Even if we lived in jungles, a 5'5 can do all the same things a 5'9 can(and, if they couldn't, why would you want to partner yourself with someone that is taller and leave yourself at their complete disposal?). So, if I was in a woman's situation, I would base my choices on other factors or, at the very least, go for equal height(optimal situation really) rather than try to compensate for my insecurities about height by chasing tall men.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Leaders have always been tall. Height has always been correlated with masculinity - stop hamstering away why females think the way they do and start working with what they do think.
I'm 5"8 - if i'm going out to a bar I just wear good quality boots with a 1.5" heel. Problem solved - it makes no difference whatsoever past the "initial" attraction has been reached.

Half of RP truths and the concept of hypergamy is based on evolutionary biology and psychology. We may have shed some of our primitive instincts, but not all of them.

You're making a big leap there by assuming it's an evolutionary instinct, rather than a culturally driven predisposition. Even if it was a purely evolutionary instinct...I could still come come up with a few reasons why, evolutionarily speaking, taller isn't better too... so, again, the point is kind of moot.

Also we should filter out the comments of women who are below 8/10. Every time I've seen a female height-shaming comment, it's always been an ugly female.

[–]farbenwvnder -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
No, it's definitely not "very low" for reps.
Beginners start at 20-40kg

A healthy male who does manual labor maybe.
I'm not gonna argue about this though as neither of us will be able to provide stats worth looking at and people seem to think some dude is gonna bench 80kg 5x5 after 3 months. Yeah, right.
Actually, there are some decent stats and the max ONE REP weight for "untrained" guys is 60kg at 80kg body weight which should be close to average for a "healthy man"
http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/BenchStandardsKg.html
You are a novice after 3 months? Their one rep max is still only 75kg and I'd like to see that guy do 5x5 with his body weight at 80kg
And please leave the squats out of this because I never mentioned them
Benching more than 80kg after 3 months from beginner, IT career/sedentary job.
I shot straight past it actually.
The guy isn't eating enough food or working as hard/smart as he should.

Going from untrained to benching 175 in 3 months is easily achievable
