"The school was extremely reluctant to take any action against my assailant without a fair investigative process."

I'm not seeing the problem here

[–]tsudonimh 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I could barely believe she wrote that and doesn't get it. There are numerous accounts of male students getting railroaded by school/college boards for sexual assaults that wouldn't go anywhere in a proper court. If the board decided there wasn't a case to answer then I can't imagine how leaky her story is.

[–]TehFuggernaut 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Her leaky story is she got drunk and went back to a guys room, he bit her during sex and she was a prude so asked that he stopped biting, and then she banged him and felt like she wouldn't have done that sober in the morning. le sigh I'm so depressed and in fear all the time.

[–]OKJaded 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The whole time I was thinking "why didn't she move houses." Then on the second page, oh, it's because she didn't want to.

verbally pressured me

lol

At this stage of the game feminists have ruined this for actual vit=ctims, even before I started reading I assumed it was a drunken hook up that she regretted...and I was right, the university not taking action (despite the massive trend) tells me they found nothing to support the life ending charge of rape.

Given she went to his room on her own power, she could have also walked out.

In reality there is no such thing as a Jedi mind trick.

What rapist asks? He asks for consent and she gave it.

[–]MagicGainbow 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But she didn't, he give her tingles and the next day she had regrets and is now verging into histrionics.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Idk man sounds like she was scared. If he was already biting her and shit she may have been afraid he might take it farther and really hurt her.

I don't disagree I think the whole thing sounds overdramatized. I just gets me that she said no several times. I know that's a women sometimes use to test your persistence but it still feels iffy.

I am weeks behind in the three classes I’m taking. I have to take sleeping pills every night to fall and stay asleep, and I routinely get nightmares in which I am sexually assaulted in public. I cannot drink alcohol without starting to cry hysterically. I dropped my favorite extracurriculars because I cannot find the energy to drag myself out of bed. I do not care about my future anymore, because I don’t know who I am or what I care about or whether I will still be alive in a few years. I spend most of my time outside of class curled up in bed, crying, sleeping, or staring at the ceiling, occasionally wondering if I just heard my assailant’s voice in the staircase. Often, the cough syrup sitting in my drawer or the pavement several floors down from my window seem like reasonable options.

I know I will sound cold and callous, but let's put it into perspective. She was verbally pressured into having sex by her own admission. No physical trauma, no physical coercion.

For a man to write the above paragraph, he would have had to be overseas in a stinking jungle pit, having seen the enemy capture his battalion, slowly starve them, and blow the brains out of his comrades while they forced him to watch.

I couldn't believe her refusal to move houses after the university offered it. Don't be such a stubborn ass. If being around this person is making you miserable and depressed then fucking MOVE if you have the opportunity. She now strikkes me as the kind of person that loves to pity herself. No I shouldn't be the one to have to move. Everyone should feel bad for me. It doesn't really help your case to say that this is ruining your life and then deny the one help offering that they made.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He asked me to use my mouth. I said no. I was intoxicated, I was in pain, I was trapped between him and the wall, and I was scared to death that he would continue to ignore what I said. I stopped everything and turned my back to him, praying he would leave me alone. He started getting impatient. “Are you only going to make me hard, or are you going to make me come?” he said in a demanding tone.

It did not sound like a question. I obeyed.

If this is "rape" then I guess the stats are right- every woman has been raped. She never told him "no" to sex. She reflexively "obeyed" and now wants to cry rape. Fuck her.

[–]grelknar 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Sounds shitty for her but why doesn't she report to the actual cops and do an end run around the "Ad Board"? You feel victim of a crime, you're convinced this private body is making decisions which don't conform to the law, why not call law enforcement?

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Because she knows her story is complete and utter BULLSHIT, and that if she files a falsified, embellished "actual police report", she can be criminally charged herself. True "assault" or "rape" victims don't fuck around with "ad boards" or college administrators. They go to the cops. This vindictive little bitch is nothing more than a slut-shamed whore who is trying to salvage her reputation by eviscerating the guy she spread her legs for. She didn't trip into his dorm room by mistake.

[–]Ferelden 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I think actual rape victims don't report. At least the majority.

[–]TRP VanguardJP_Whoregan 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

May be so, but I think if a true rape victim were to actually make the decision to "report", she'd be doing it to the cops, not the local school/university assholes. The girl writing this blog piece is an obvious attention whore, who, if you read the thing top to bottom, leaves MUCH to be desired in the way of details on how the "night in question" went down. She admits to being drunk off her ass, and stumbling "randomly" into a guy's dorm room one weekend. Her own account of the night in question is not unassailable, as she has no real memory or recollection of the night, due to her own irresponsible alcohol consumption. Now she wants to prosecute a man based on questionable memories fogged by her own substance abuse, but without any of the stigma attached to filing an actual "report". The whole situation is suspect, and it sounds like she's auditioning for /r/pussypass with this blog post.

[–]Ferelden 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I wasn't disagreeing with the rape being fake. I just know it is a fact that a majority of victims don't report out of shame, not to mention writing up a HUGE blog post and really playing up being a victim. I always see a huge red flag when people claim not to remember the previous night, but then remember odd specifics like the get me hard/make me come question.

[–]1PaulRivers10 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think actual rape victims don't report. At least the majority.

The girl I knew in college who was an actual rape victim didn't report. I encouraged her to, but she didn't. So I agree with you.

This is exactly the problem, though. Who's most likely to go through the process of accussing someone publicly? Of writing blog entries, standing up in front of people and talking about it? Of course - it's someone who was simply embarrassed in retrospect about the experience, rather than someone who is genuinely emotionally traumatized by something they were forced to date.

Trying to proscecute rape is shitty, because of the lack of evidence. But the people most likely to make the spotlight because of it aren't the actual rape victims, people who don't want to relive the experience. The people most likely to try to hog the spotlight are the people who weren't actually raped, but just decided later they shouldn't have done something, so they're trying to blame other people for it. They don't mind nearly as much being in the spotlight, because they're not reliving trauma. They're like someone who bought something on clearance (unreturnable), got home, didn't like it after all, and now want to complain about being stuck with having bought it.

It's horribly fucked up.

[–]Ferelden 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly what I was getting at! Then we have to deal with the "victim blaming" comments when attempting to call these women out. Super, super fucked up.

[–]1PaulRivers10 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

[–]luxury_banana 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The thing about that is that it's unknowable knowledge. No one knows how prevalent that underreporting actually is.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

probably because a law enforcement investigation would find no reason to convict

[–]PrimaxAUS 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure I've ever run into anyone 'five times a day'.

[–]HarryPeckerCrabbe 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People need to remember the Duke rape case and how the lives of those young men were destroyed by a false claim and an over zealous prosecutor.
