My dad passed a week before my SO was due to visit my city for his cousins graduation. I put on my best face and went with him to meet the family. As it turns out, the cousin’s dad died a few years ago too. When her mom made a tearful speech about their loss, he put his arm around me and asked me quietly if I could go with him to help find a bathroom.

As soon as he led me out of sight he pulled me into a giant hug and stroked my hair. I felt so seen, supported, and safe. In that little moment I knew this is someone I want to give my all to.

In the same weekend, his mom exclaimed that she’s never seen him so happy. I’m glad I seem to be doing a good job. :)

When we first started dating he would tell me, even if we broke up I would be the image that flashed in his mind on his death bed. I looked at him one day and couldn’t imagine not being apart of his life at the end. I truly felt love at that moment and feel even stronger 8 years later.

For me it was gradual, but it was our conversations and the things we would do together. Prior to us becoming lovers, he never pushed sex, but was caring and affectionate. When I finally admitted to myself that I love him, it actually caused me to want him more.

We've been together for 5.5 years and married for 4. I wouldn't have it any other way!

I'm trans we are dating long distance as he serves in the US Army and I use the fact I'm Canadian to help me transition faster. We met pretty early on, when I was graduating I didn't talk about it with him until the day of because to me it didn't mean anything especially going as a man it was just going to be a stressful event.

Finding out I've never gotten flowers and how disappointed I was to graduate seeing all the gorgeous women in my class having the day I wanted and I have to bind my chest, wear a baggy old suit in a very specific way hide my hips and look like a dude to appease family.(w/e end of the day they paid for it and all they wanted was some ugly pictures of me, take them) Next day he says expect a package, and it was this huge bouquet with a lovely note congratulating me on graduating. This was delivered to my parents house where I'm staying rn, which he sent such a big display as a middle finger to my parents for 'making me feel like this'.

I learned I could trust him and his support more than my blood family

I loved him the moment he rejected my sexual advances (bp at the time) and "wanted to make sure I was worth it".

I'm HB8 so I've never experienced that before. I was amazed by his assertiveness and self-assurance. It captured me more than his charisma did. He was a man like no other, still is.

He's made me a better woman, the woman I wanted to be.

I met my guy here on Reddit a couple years ago. I moved from America to Australia before I met him and was back home in America to visit family, and he wanted to fly down from his state to mine to meet me. I was having a panic attack the night before he flew down, because I was so nervous..I was always very self conscious of how I look as my dad put me down a lot so I never quite felt good enough, on top of that I had lost 100lbs but still was not at my goal weight and just felt really scared he wouldn't like me. Anyway when he found out how scared I was he called me right away on Skype to ease my mind. It was such a simple gesture but it meant a lot to me. While I don't think that was the moment that I fell in love, it was one of the little things that ultimately added up to it.
