Mew's theories go directly against traditional methods of surgery and orthodontics, he even says that these can be harmful. Of course they are going to say this, he could put many of them out of business.

I think it needs to also be mentioned that the same people discrediting Mike Mew are having their livelihood threatened by his work. Not that this automatically discredits them but the conflict of interest is there and needs to be verified by a third party.

Mewing clearly works if mouth breathing causes a horse face. Lots of bite misalignments come from poor oral posture aswell, seems quite disingenuous to claim they don't work.

Of course it's surgeons saying "it doesn't work" when their work needs dumb people looking to go under the knife.

People think that mewing is some supernatural stuff it's really not I've seen improvements my family as seen improvements he even treats patients. Orthotropics is not a scam he has patients just like your orthodontist has. Except one is unnaturally changing your face while the other does it naturally.

I don't know if mewing works - and thankfully I am not in a position that I have to find out. But I can offer my personak experience.

I'm not a handsome man. Not even close to it. Neither of my grandfathers had a prominent or especially attractive jawline, and my father was no exception I on the other hand have a quite decent jawline, even if my face otherwise is not much to look at. Now, the thing with me is I was a chubby kid. Later I lost weight, and when I was on my "fitness journey", I figured out why I was chubby as a kid - I loved to chew. It was a secondary activity for me. When I got into shape, I started chewing gums to prevent myself from chewing, and subsequently eating things. It's compulsive. I don't have a single pen that doesn't have deep bitemarks on it.

Now, out of my male relatives, my paternal grandfather had the most "appealing" jawline - he was a mason, a bricklayer, and as most people doing hard physical labour, he was a no nonsense kind of guy - the kind of person who would sit down in the shade after six hours of carrying concrete blocks and digging the foundation of a house, and consume a pound of bread with lard and a whole head of onion. My other grandfather and my father are/were white collar workers, and unsurprisingly they don't have the most well developed foot processing instruments.

I guess my point is that I am an anecdotal evidence to the claim that chewing stuff (which partially involves a lot of tongue work) can lead to a better jawline, even if you don't have a genetic predisposition for it.

This was my two cents anyway.

It's very believable and quite obvious it works at a young age. The problem with mewing are people greatly overestimating the effects of tongue posture in adulthood. Notice how I'm not saying it doesn't work at all, there is dozens of exemples of muscle function affecting bone remodeling in adults but you're delusional if you think orthotropics are gonna put maxfac surgeons out of business.

I've gotten good results from mewing my asymetrical hairline us almost conpletly straight my over bite is diminishing and my eyes are less asymetrical
