What you've got to remember about Japan is that they are not only xenophobic (no multiculturalism there, good for them,) but also a culture that places massive emphasis on politeness, defference to elders/higher-ups and etiquette. Even their language has different terms for the same meaning based upon your social position and the social position of the person you're speaking to. In that regard, Japan is a conservative and uptight society. That guy isn't just "taking their women" but he's disrespecting their cultural customs as well by using obnoxious westerner asshole game. I bet a number of guys wanted to beat the shit out of him for this behaviour because in Japan, acting like that is pretty provocative. The girl at the counter at the end for example, from what we can see, looked positively uncomfortably. If he just met her, that escalation was miscalibrated in as much as it was too much, too quick, and he looked like he was chomping at the bit on her neck like a rabid vampire.

That just looks like you're taking advantage of a culture that's made people so polite and respectful that no one is going to get in your face and tell you that you're acting like an asshole. There are ways of picking up chicks in Japan, I'm sure, that don't involve acting like an arrogant American prick. For every girl he grabs and forces into an awkward social situation there have to be some (most?) that legitimately do not want it and whose day will have been made worse by the gross invasion of personal space and security.

Foreigners should be careful when they are in an asian country that places high value is being polite and what not.

Have a Thai friend from Pattaya that told me his buddy ran up and knee'd a foreigner in the face for being drunk and disrespectful to women in a tourist area and had to hide from police. The foreigner was in a coma for awhile. Not sure what happened after.

This guy missed one of the major lessons from Patrice O'Neal.

Patrice was a big fat misogynist, and yet many women respected him and defended his ass. What was so different about him? A NY Times article (bot won't let me link) on Patrice contains some hints.

When you're showing bitterness, you're TAKING energy away from your audience. They subconsciously know they have to tiptoe around your feelings. You want something from them. When a confident man takes charge, the opposite happens: he is GIVING to his audience. He is going on an exciting adventure and taking them along for the ride.

When his audience leaves, they feel better. Patrice left them with more good energy than they came. That's real alpha. You have to have something to give to your audience. See what Patrice had to say in an interview:

Laughter is something that people don't do because they want to do it, they're made to do so. You catch a comic and you think the motherfucker is ready to just be funny, because that's what they do. So having said all that and looked at the video, I'm pretty sure Julien is not giving anything to his audience. He's just taking energy from them. It's all about him. Not about the audience, not about the interaction - it's about him.

You have to have a calmer approach in Asian societies. You can still have alpha demeanor but you gotta tone it down physically. If he was in Thailand he would've gotten popped. You can't even kiss outdoors there.

I like RSD but I think Julien gives the wrong idea often times. Newbies might thing that being a jackass = pussy and that's missing the point by far.

Honestly, a little disrespect to their ass backwards culture might do Japan a little good. I'm not convinced he fucked any of those girls, however.
