I find that confusing because several men here say regular sex is the only reason to get married which suggests sex is the way to a man's heart, if not why all the emphasis on dead bedroom, why all the discussion about how sex for many men is the only way they get validated.

But no sex does not entitle a woman to commitment which is why if she wants commitment she needs to be very careful who she does have sex with.

That's an even more common delusion among guys, someone going through a slutty phase fucks a guy in her social or work circles and then she's fucking all the other guys too and he's going various shades of green and exploding over it because he thought his magic penis should make a woman he knew very little about into a perfect little wifey. You answered your own question in your post. Women have been taught (by men) that saving sex for marriage makes them worthless prudes. Since all men can talk about is how important sex is to them, they grow to believe that sex is the way to get a man.

Meanwhile, I am saving sex for marriage and I still have men like me. Your friend needs to be straight up from day one and look for a religious guy, not someone who is having tons of sex. Just doing that alone makes dating so much easier.

If a woman wants to be considered LTR/marriage material she must be: 1) a good companion (i.e. enjoyable to be around); 2) a good partner (i.e. able to help build a life); and 3) sexually compatible.

If a guy ceases to be interested its usually because one or more of these criteria are not being met.

Just sleeping with a guy is not going to create a relationship. Sex is only part of the equation.
