Link to the full article is here. Posting this with my opinions as marriage is talked about a lot here tho not about the getting married part itself (least to any real extent). And I think a certain amount here would be against the whole bridezilla thing.

For many of the thousands of American weddings that have taken place so far this summer, there have been two unspoken requirements: 1) that the events be stunning, awe-inspiring, love-filled, unique and fun all at once, and 2) that they appear to have occurred miraculously, with zero effort or emotional output on the part of the bride.

Maybe its because I don't know anyone getting married or something, but with how expensive weddings are today (costing easily as much as a 30k), I don't think people today are expecting this over the top wedding that was done with ease so that they can post pictures of Instagram. While people will post pictures of a wedding on Instagram I think especially for gen yer's they be okay with a decent event that wasn't over the top as I think they get how much it be to go over the top.

Before long, any bride who dared to reveal any fraction of the stress that went into planning the best day ever (the bar for which has risen to impossible heights thanks to Pinterest pressure and social media scrutiny) ran the risk of being described as a monster.

I don't think the author really gets the whole bridezilla thing and more what is is about. As the whole bridezilla thing is about how the bride goes well ape shit and throws a fit while demanding everything like a little kid does when they don't get their way. I think most people get planning a wedding is stressful and can get frustrating at times. But there's a difference of letting go of stress and throwing a fit because things aren't going your way the way you demand them to be.

One bride told me her male partner was effectively ignored by vendors, his ideas and questions unacknowledged. It’s like payback for sexist office dynamics! Except, well, women lose here, too.

How is this payback for sexist office dynamics? Its literally a whole industry that is sexist towards men. Its ironically one created by women, run by women and operated by women. As the whole wedding thing is still seen as the brides party. The groom is in it for the ride and shouldn't have a say. I would like to think this is changing, but again don't know anyone getting married or what have you.

The criticism is all the more bizarre at a time when men in politics are engaging in regular public tantrums.

And those politicians are often mocked/bashed when they throw a tantrum. Don't know why the author here thinks this isn't the case.
