You shouldn't lie about believing in God. Saying you're spiritual isn't lying, it's a truth i itself. Being part of a religion comes with restrictions, rules, rituals, and obligations, that rob you of the freedom to think. I mean, there are religion who forbid eating pork, claiming it's unpure. They say that it's written in their texts. When in reality, those words are taken out of context, or the following words are not taken into consideration.

Bible: Men decided that eating swine is unpure, because it's a creature that eats anything (rotting corpses, its own feces etc). Jesus comes along a few years later, eats pork and gets called out. He tells them simply who are they to tell that his father's (God) creations are unpure. If the meat is well prepared, it's fit to be eaten (remember these people were still primitive in their ways, and didn't know too much about cleanliness of their food and all that).

You have no idea pf what you're talking about. Religion comes with a set of practices, rituals, and rules. They tell you how each text is supposed to be interpreted, while if you take time to read the text on your own without thinking about religion, you get a different meaning. Go look at some of the proverbs in the bible, or the book of Solomon. These texts have wisdom for everyday life like how to deal with two saying one object belongs to them. How can you know who's right and who's wrong if you are to place judgement and decide the final word. In the book of Solomon, you can get that wisdom. It's little things, but are so meaningful. If you read the bible like you would read any book, you'd get what I'm saying. Sadly, you're too closed minded to even attempt what im telling you.

Im not even religious, by I read the bible the quran, buddhist text, and zen philosophy. You can be spritual and not religious, no church no sacrifices etc. Just you observing the higher power and practicing good on earth.

freemasons are a fraternity. They're not some religious sect that does shady stuff. They welcome all religions as long as you recognize that a higher form of existence known as The Architect (God, Allah, Yaweh etc) created life. They believe in good and serving humanity. You get mad props everywhere for being one, and people respect them. My dad worked for the government back home (I'm Haitian), and one time he was sent to Argentina for work. When he arrived in Buenos Aires, at the airport, he had to sign his arrival documents n shit, he used his regular signature with the three mason dots at the end. Shortly after, an Argentinian man came to greet him, and told him that he saw the signature and said that if there is anything he ever needed while he's in Argentina that he should contact him (a masonic brother himself). That's the type of brotherhood it is, worldwide. If you go to a foreign country and there are masons there, they have to welcome you and make you feel at ease. You're their brother, and they will serve you.

Also, it's stated that if you're joining the freemasons for "connections", don't join. That's not what it's about. You have to genuinely want to be a better man, a man that serves humanity (They do a lot of volunteering work), you have to be want to be a man that the masons' are honered to call their brother. You have to have an inquisitive mind about the nature of man, his role in the universe, the universe, and life itself. Your mind needs to really be out there if you want to be a TRUE mason. You have to have that BIG PICTURE mind.

EDIT: Why are you bums downvoting me? Is it because I crushed your dreams of esoteric knowledge and access to immortality by joining their ranks? What you guys have in America right now though, is more like a club than anything lol. There are some lodges that are racist, black lodges are seperated form white lodges, just too much division and nonsense. I wouldn't bother joining it here. I'm set to join their ranks next year when I go home for vacation.

It's not a "problem". Like I said, freemasonry builds great men, and shape their character well. Spirituality is very important to them. You don't have to be part of a religion to be spiritual, you just have to recognize that there has GOT TO BE something out there that created all of this. Without spirituality, and a recognizable moral compass, they can't trust having an atheist in their ranks. An atheists simply doesn't believe in anything above human intelligence, that's just insane.

They read scriptures from the King James version of the bible, for wisdom and spiritual guidance, not as a religious practice. The bible is full of text that even an atheist can benefit from. It talks about being good, being wise, being fair etc. It's not "perfect" but there are some very good writings in it.

I was raised Roman Catholic, became atheist in my teenage years, then became spiritual in early adulthood. There IS something out there, greater than anything we can know, its presence can be felt if you're open to it. You don't have to name it, or practice any set of rituals, or read a book about it, but you can fucking feel it man in your heart (you'll just know you're not alone and are blessed), only if you're open to it.

Even the great men in history that were supposedly atheist, weren't. They didn't believe in religion and its dogmas, but never denied the existence of a high power. They were spiritual (They recognize a higher form of existence and intelligence created things, and had their own way of honoring it). Even Buddhism is not a religion, it's a philosophy, a way of thinking. Religions are strict and were used to control early humans (who were dumb, and barbaric). Think about it, these people couldn't read, had no knowledge of what was outside of their towns, didn't know advanced math, and were technologically inferior; our kids today are more mentally packed than two adults back then. They were very simple people, with the majority if not most being uneducated and closed minded). So the rich, with access to education and power, dictated the dumb and poor. It gave them boundaries, and limitations so as to not act in an archaic fashion. Religions introduced the thought of eternity after death, either an eternity in pleasure, or an eternity in torment, depending on how you acted on the earth. So each religion figured out what they thought were good and bad, based on the needs/geography/structure of their people. The god they worship, all the same, different races just have different ways of interpreting its existence.

God created men, free, with their own ability to think. You have sons, sons who one day grow up and design weapons of war, doesn't make you responsible for making weapons of war. Men are not perfect beings, and they have no innate sense of "religion". We seek to put order in things so that we have more control over them, so a club was created, "religion".

You keep seeing Gor as this one person, that's good or evil, when it's a force, a being beyond our comprehension.

Do you think a white blood cell is aware of its existence as just a white blood cell in your blood? I mean, exists in itself, doesn't it? It has a purpose, a life span, and it is active in its life. Do you think a white blood cell is aware pf life outside of the blood stream? Do you think it knows it's part of a bigger system?

See, that's the thing. Your image of a higher power is based on what you learned from "religion", a guy with a beard and a robe. What use does that higher power have of a beard if its not physical? A beard comes with age, clothes are meant to cover physical nudity. The higher power is eternal and does not need a physical body, so what use does it have for those things? The image you know God was created to give our dumb ancestors are more relateable picture. Just like how Jesu was painted as a white man with blue eyes by Italian renaissance painters. They painted him based on what they thought were beautiful in their era. It's not like they were there when he was around, nor did anyone actually draw him when he was alive. His image is purely fabricated.

God is a force, something like the wind, but you cant feel it on your body. It's the energy that holds all the atoms in existence together.

I highly encourage you to seek your Creator in your own terms, hold the word of no man to be true. Ask, and you will receive signs.

My creator is the universe, the laws of physics, and evolution. I need no god hypothesis, it can all be just how it is on its own.

At its simplest, I am here because of gravity.

I have morals because I am human, and humans are social. Social dynamics are the reason for morals, not fabricated beliefs intended to placate inquisitive minds because the authority figures didn't understand the water cycle. To claim I cannot have morals because I do not believe in an all powerful entity, is ludicrous and ignorant.

To claim I don't believe in anything other than the intellect of man is insulting, and comes from hubris that men are somehow special or endowed to have dominion over the world. I am simply star stuff and I live in a time when I can study the universe around me.

Just because we cant prove how it happened, doesnt mean that god did it.

It didnt just appear out of nowhere, its called evolution. Survival of the fittest.

You need to provide evidence for the claims that you are making, you cant just go "look around you, you dont think this was random do you?".

In science, saying "I dont know" is a totally valid statement. I dont know how those things happened or why they are such, but I also dont think that god did it.

Even if I could prpve it, you wouldn't agree, because you don't believe.

This is sheer ignorance at its finest. If you could prove using logical evidence that something is true, I certainly would believe! thats the whole point of showing me evidence.

God is not a physical being, so how do you expect me to prove anything with physical terms. If it was so easy, then everyone would know God. It's up to you to find God, on your own, nobody can take you to God. God appears to those who seek him.

As for your evolution thing, think about it... How do all the atoms know where to go and when to go? There is a force behind it all. Simply saying evolution is like saying the light bulb is on because you flippped a switch; the switch is why the lightbulb is on, and that's that. When in fact, the light bulb is on because of all the wiring that is set up behind the walls that allow the electrical current to run through.

I mean, don't you think that's crazy? You used to be a little white liquid dude. Intelligent design like this isn't just "there", it was created. You ever look up to the skies at night, outside of a major city where there is no light pollution? The sky's beauty cannot be duplicated by any art that man can make. It hits you so right. You can't deny these things man, there all around you. You ever seen the perfect, symetrical design of a snowflake under a microscope? That's intelligent design, stuff like that can't just be "nature". That's back to the lightbulb - switch argument. Nature is a processed that was designed, by a hihly intelligent force, hence why Freemasons call it The Architect. Master designer of all that there is. You really gotta be in awe of life to be a true Freemason.
