Do trolls try to see who can post the most crazy opinion over there, or is the whole thing actually serious?

There are definitely some trolls...I mean, pretty sure every sub has 'em. But some of the men over there are still in the Anger phase of dealing with their grief. Maybe they've been frivorced, had their kids taken away, or are forced to pay alimony to a ex who makes more than them. Perhaps they just found out that their kids aren't even biologically his, but he is still required to pay child support or got ripped into by the HR department by a jealous female coworker who made up stories about him. Or maybe his mother/sisters/babysitter were abusive.

There are so many reasons good guys become MGTOW, and a lot of them really do need emotional support and compassionate understanding, even if they are angry and say misogynistic things at the moment. I actually have 2 MGTOW friends irl, and although they seemed very standoffish at first, within a few months it was plain to see they'd been unfairly put through the wringer by our fucked up courts and were simply working that out of their system.

I'm not saying that you personally should excuse everything said over there, but if you go back just remember that people of both sexes will sometimes say what they don't mean and lash out when hurt.

They're venting, mostly.

Give them a while. Most MGTOWs eventually stabilize.

They're dealing with extreme disillusionment and trying to reject a gender role that they've been systematically indoctrinated with from day one. Not to mention how many of them have, in fact, sustained personal damage in the aftermath of a relationship. They need some space and understanding.

There were 2 posts here yesterday that were promptly deleted along the same lines. "Do women have any redeeming qualities?" "Sluts should be stoned to save society from breakdown...." I don't think all of those men are trolling, I think many men there and on TRP have deep-seated misogyny and need to open their minds and stop seeing everything in black and white...

MGTOW RP are definitely serious. Their viewpoint is fairly easily defensible.
