Lifting is a good start, and picking up other hobbies is good too. I took a comedy class. Starting strength is a good book.
Do you have any dating experience/PUA experience? I'd read up on some basics of game (natural game stuff, not the canned Mystery stuff, which I feel is a bit outdated) and practice going out every once in a while. As long as it's not a threat to your career (i.e. you're not in an environment with coworkers), feel free to experiment a lot.

I would be down for comedy. The two main out-of-work activities I have been into for the past few months have been contra dancing and Greek classes. I occasionally attend or run board game nights (gamer nerd, go figure) and have been trying to pick up archery.
Main things I need are: How to lift, and how to handle social groups larger than four people. Introversion sucks. Hard.

Starting Strength is a good book for lifting. I did Crossfit to learn how to lift - it's not perfect, especially from a purely strength perspective, but if you spend a few months in you'll learn most of the core lifts and the difference between Olympic and power lifting. There's a lot of additional crap with the classes, but most places let you lift during non-class time, so that's nice.
There's also a beginning lifter's guide on body building forums (google it)
To look good, I'd probably devote your time lifting into learning how to do squats (backsquats), deadlifts, bench press, strict/military press, with some cosmetic bicep curls (not really "functional", but girls like them).
It's definitely a skill, and it takes time (I've heard anywhere from 3 months to 3 years) to get proper form. Be very careful with proper form on the deadlift, you don't want to screw up your back.
What do you mean by handle? If you intend on talking to more than four people at once, that gets pretty difficult. Or do you just mean parties where there are more than four people present?

One thing at a time. Heal your body first. Then learn to dress. Then clean up your living space. Then think about something new.

Start with your body. Note that that includes DIET as well as lifting. Make some space in your schedule for some kind of sport. Check the gym for a basketball league, handball, racquetball, or anything. You need to meet and hang out with other men who are not geeks. (Nothing wrong with geek friends, but you've got that covered, I'm guessing.)
Don't spend a lot of money on new clothes for the first four months. Your body is going to start to change.
While you're working on your body, start working on your living space. Google "National Association of Professional Organizers" and get a local referral. They'll help you clear away junk. And most of your stuff is junk, trust me.
Once you've gotten your place in order, you'll want to decorate. When you're learning your style, it's hard to do. Taste is hard. Hire somebody. Make it CLEAR when you meet the decorator that you want "traditional," "timeless," and "classic." Avoid "collections" or "rooms to go." If it's canned, it looks canned.

Diet is very underrated; you can get a top 10% body without doing much exercise if you are on a good diet.
Read Models by mark manson; it will make a lot of things more clear about life

I’m glad you’ve found your way here. But now that you’ve arrived, don’t flop over and wait for others to tell you in detail “where to start”. There are only two other comments in this post at the time I’m writing this, and they provide you with all the direction you need.
The rest is up to you. Good luck.
