With the advent of online dating, women are getting more used to flaking and ignoring, considering they have so many options, and the common argument from women for flaking and ignoring online is that "there's not enough time to parse through all the options". I believe that this behavior is carrying over into the real life as well, not just text messages.

Now, from the point of view of acquiring social status, it's in women's best interest to not admit that they flake, because being unreliable can get someone socially ostracized. Don't get me wrong, there's unreliable men and men who flake too, but men don't have as many options in dating, so they're less likely to flake. Flaking also aligns more with hypergamy. Also, I think the number of women flaking is increasing, because of the internet habits carrying over to real life as well.

So what percentage of women ACTUALLY flake? Is it going up or down? Why do YOU think women pretend they're not a flake when they really are?

Tell me what you fellow PPD folks think.
