Plus "Good morning" and "good night" are so low effort and meaningless, I don't see the point.

And I’m glad. What a random, low-effort way to engage with someone. I think I would find it irritating.

I actually like good morning/good night texts because I work a non-standard schedule, so they’re staying up just to message me. I can’t use my phone at work, either, so I don’t get to text unless I’m off. It’s not a big gesture, but it still makes me happy.
