Patriarchy isn't real and no one is conspiring against women. This article is just one giant hyperbolic appeal to emotion best summarized by this quote:

Really? "Could I run for my life in these shoes?" That's what women think when they are getting read to go out? OK.

Look, if you want to justify the fact you're afraid to walk outside, or justify the fact attractive women make you uncomfortable, or justify the fact that being fat is disgusting, then by all means feel free to blame it on some invisible boogeyman. Just don't get upset when I don't entertain your victim mentality.

Everybody goes through difficulty. Everybody gets mocked. Everybody is at risk of violence. Everybody wishes they looked a little better. Everybody feels taken advantage of. You aren't unique because you are a woman, and the most badass chicks I know would never write some whiny article asking for men to feel guilty and sympathetic on their behalf.

shitty entry level post. Feminism in name is very different from feminism in practice. By equality, what feminism really means is equality in male benefits without equality in male disadvantages. Yall want all the benefits of both equality and patriarchy and disadvantages of neither.

OP, if you REALLY want to convince men to be feminist, or be allies, or whatever the fuck, your best course of action is to get out there and try and help some individual man with any of the stuff you listed (talking about his feelings, getting custody of his kids, or whatever).

Personally, I do not give a shit what feminists say their goals are. Only what they actually do for me, or do to me. And at the moment, feminists do a lot more TO me and other men, than they do for us. They make us men out to be rapists and criminals, blame us for everything under the sun while simultaneously making all our problems out to be our own fault, and worst of all, insult our intelligence by constantly arguing that our failure to embrace feminism is because we're not sufficiently educated on it. That if we just knew what feminism was really all about we'd be signing up in droves.

It's an incredibly arrogant and obnoxious premise and literally the only reason you get away with it is because your targets are white men. It would be "mansplaining" if it was the other way around.

You neglect to consider that men might have already heard everything there is to hear about feminism, we just don't believe it because your actions usually fall somewhere between "cynically pretending to support egalitarianism while in reality focusing only on areas where women stand to benefit" and "outright misandry." We don't believe it because our experience of feminism has amounted to little more than shaming, ridicule and blame directed at us with only the barest scraps of positivity in the form of "renounce all your ~~sins~~ privilege, become a full fledged ally and do everything we tell you and maybe THEN you'll be a good person."
