I know a 5'7" or so dude who is balding, 37 and dating a 21 year old student I know. Not great facial aesthetics, never lifts, has PUA ish style, god tier charisma. Has lots of other chicks into him too.

IMO a huge factor to dating younger girls is being relevant to their social circle in a genuine way.

.. No. You need a six pack and an OKC profile. Plenty of older dudes can get with younger women. A lot of them just let themselves go.

I definitely think these things would "lube" up the process considerably, but they aren't a prerequisite.

I think the single greatest determinant in regards to being successful with the aforementioned archetype of women, is being in an environment that is conducive of that archetype of woman, and by extension being adept at maneuvering in such an environment.

I think most guys fall subject to bloop conditioning and think that their age is a lot more important than it actually is. it's assumed that a 30 yo guy trying to chat up younger girls is predatory/creepy at worst and oportunistic at best, so I can understand why this question comes up so often.

Most guys don't make a legitimate and conscious effort to try and do these sorts of things for exactly that reason. the social stigma and shame of being branded a creeper is too much for them.

The issue with most guys in their 30s is that they let themselves go. They gain 50+ pounds and stop working out.

If a 30-something guy maintains 10% body fat, lifts a couple of times a week, and dresses well, then they can look a lot better than the average 30 year old guy.

Adam Levine is 36, and he's still good looking.

Maybe if they are working on a masters or doctorate? It's going to be difficult to go after freshmen. Most people date with just a few years age range. You can always lie depends if you can pull that off.

I would say that if you are good looking, look young for your age and have your shit together you have a pretty good chance. Don't wait too long though, I know that many terpers talk about how women want older men, it is true in many cases but very few girls younger than 25 want a man who is 35+ unless there is a real emotional/mental connection there.

Last time I visited a college campus too visit my brother most of the guys there were pale, pudgy, and weird looking.

When I was 30 I dated a girl in that she group and she basically told me all the guys her age were fat..

The younger generation lowered the bar
