Why is there more sex in Co-habitation than marriage?

Frequency of sex naturally decreases with time spent in relationship, and marriage = kids. Do you really think couples are going to be having the same amount of sex at 50 that they do at 20? Anyway, the data will be skewed because most cohabitors are young 20s while marriage includes couples into their 80s and 90s. Of course the average will be skewed overall.

Are these numbers adjusted for age and number of kids? Because if not, they don't really say a lot.

Length of relationship matters too. Married of cohabiting, the first year you'll be going at it about 4 times a day (or more.) Kind of hard to maintain that without loosing your job, family, friends ...

I think think people who cohabitate and have children probably have the same amount of sex. It also depends on the length of cohabitation, my guess is people who are married for ten years and people who are living together for ten years also have about the same amount of sex.

There have been the usual comments about women getting fat and undesirable blah blah, and frankly I have seen a lot of men let themselves go after getting married. Just as women who gain weight and spend all of their time on the phones and FB are boring so are beer drinking golf Bros with beer bellies.

for all the claims that women are "not sex machines that you can put niceness coins into to get it to work," the reverse is also true. That men are not simply commitment machines that work by putting in sex.

Also consider that marriage is the end game for girls.

When they see a man they want to lock down, they will go to just about any length to obtain it.

That means sex on demand, domestic duties fulfilled, staying in shape, and other girl game.

Once a girl has a dude locked down, she already has what she wants.

She has a contract that says no matter what she does, no matter how far she lets herself go, no matter how many times he initiates sex and she "has a headache", no matter how many time she cheats on him, no matter how many paternity fraudlings she puts on him, she gets half of his stuff plus alimony anytime she decides to punch out.

No matter how little effort a girl puts in after the wedding, she is still entitled to the same payment. It would be like if you got hired someplace then could immediately discontinue all effort and still receive your paycheck. Also you could quit anytime you wanted and still get paid.

Combine that with the fact that marriage turns most guys into betas (assuming they weren't already) so the tingles dry up and that explains the sex going away in marriage.

Number of reasons:

Unwed people are more capable of vacating a given relationship, hence sex isn't something that can easily be withheld by either party without consequence.
Unwed people are typically younger and healthier, making sex easier to perform and more enjoyable.

There's more I'm sure, but I've lost interest in trying to define them.
