Im not sure this is the best idea. Most of us on either side developed our views from personal experience and observation. The "evidence" from either side usually consists of surveys, which I think are outrageously unreliable. Imo there is too little concrete evidence to have a "true" debate. I'm mostly here to try and see how much of what bluepillers observe and experience correlates with my own.

That being said, i dont see what harm would really come of it. Any consequences can be dealt with by just stoppong cmv posts.

Maybe this will just introduce loaded CMVs. Most people who visit here, RP or BP, are pretty resilient in their beliefs since theyre based upon their life experiences and sensitivities and therefore do not wish to actually change their beliefs. That being said we all know this is still going to happen anyway....so shoot.

It's great to allow these type of posts, but I'm predicting the vast majority of CMV posts are going to be shit. We mostly debate about subjective opinions here. I doubt anyone's view is going to get changed.

I'm all for posts that stimulate discussion. Many posts fall into "this is my opinion, whatever" which is just a half-assed CMV anyway.

I think CMV posts only make sense where the OP is not 100% sure of his view. I'm worried that CMV would be open to abuse by people who are set in their views and don't really expect the view to possibly be changed.

I can't really see any bad coming out of a CMV type topic, and it would certainly add a very different dynamic to the conversation if people knew coming in to the post that the OP legitimately is open to change their belief on a given subject, and not just rub talking points or personal experiences in an RP'er or BP'ers face.

So... sure, why not?

I support this because most of the supposedly "neutral" posts are covert CMVs anyway.

CMV sounds like a subset of "Discussions".

The addition of CMV seems to shoehorn the discussion space into being about, "I will try to change your view" (as opposed to CMV, which is the converse, "Try to change my view").

Do you guys have any official statement on what regular discussions are encouraged to be about?
