So a red piller supposedly actually opted for Heartiste's "thermonuclear option". Is this healthy? Ethical? Wise? True?

LOL.

I love the daily show.

Well, it's a common RP theme that men getting emotional does not mean they are emotional.

Yech!

Emotion!

I'll concede that women are probably more emotional than men but a large part of that has to do with stigmatizing men who display emotion.

The ancient Greeks (who literally came up with "alpha") were much more accepting of emotions in public. Men today who repress their emotions because of society are just scared of how other people will perceive them.

My only problem with this is John Boehner is mocked for crying, Chris Matthews is mocked for getting overly enthusiastic. This is politics at its highest level and people are trying to take those biggest chunk out if you possible. I don't buy women are attacked more (I'm open to having mind changed) and I don't think they're above pulling the gender card just like some minorities pull the race card. It's how the game is played.

I'm not sure Stewart is really mocking them for being emotional so much as he's mocking the hypocrisy of the right wing media.

...he pretty much calls them pussies. i get what he's trying to do but this bit was in bad taste.

Jon Stewart wasn't making fun of them, he was highlighting the fact that emotions exist in men as well and yet the media doesn't try to make it seem like their emotions are a problem. In fact, as Stewart showed, when men in politics display emotion they are praised for it.

I don't buy women are attacked more (I'm open to having mind changed) and I don't think they're above pulling the gender card just like some minorities pull the race card. It's how the game is played.

It may be possible that sometimes minorities play the gender or race "card" but there are so many instances of actual discrimination it would surely be a little silly for us to focus on the 'problem' of cards rather than the problem of actual discrimination.

You do realize that white people pull the 'white card' constantly, right? They just don't realize they're doing it and how the card works, because they imagine their own whiteness to be a colorless default everyman position.

Most politicians are hypocritical and inconsistent. Doesn't surprise me at all.

I see your clip show and raise you an article:

I don't think we're getting the full story here. A quick googling of the woman who started that shows that she's just as looks-oriented and crazy as her supposed all-female employees. Often bad leadership leads to inefficiency, u kno, and the genders of people don't really matter at that point.

Oh, it's this article. From the Daily Mail so we're off to a great start.

Sarah, the general manager, first showed how much style mattered when she advertised for an office assistant and refused to hire the best-qualified girl because she could not distinguish Missoni from Marc Jacobs.

Six months after the company's inception, tensions spilled over when one of the researchers took Natasha's laptop and refused to return it. That day I was forced to cancel my meetings and return to the office to patch up relations. Though Sarah, my general manager, was present, she refused to get involved because she didn't want to be the 'bad cop'.

Emotions didn't have anything to do with it, she just hired incompetent as fuck employees. This article (like most Daily Mail articles) is just clickbait, written specifically to get people upset on the internet so that more people link to it.
