Do millionaires think different than an average Joe? Now, I'm not refering to the archetypical avg. Joe, but a rather well paid, 9 to 5 job worker which lives a decent life: stable job, decent car, money for some traveling/vacations, succesfully able to sustain hobbies and no debts. Enough to live well and a little bit of extra. But no Lambos, luxurious penthouses or exclusivities for him.

Do millionaires see things from a more ''elevated'' level, like know stuff which isn't apparent or obvious to the regulars? Do they have exclusive opinions? Do they see ''regulars'' as mere brainwashed pawns? I'm not refering to a specific subject, but the general view of the big picture, and if they know better how things in life work.

Also, not necessarily refering to businessmen. Could be anything: businessmen, CEOs, musicians, artists, etc.

I do have a cousin, businessman. He does some sort of trading in the energy field and is disgustingly rich. We do share two common hobbies. Cars and mountain-bikes. I have a nice sports car, he's got 5. Of which 2 of them are on the high-end of the spectrum. Bought new from the dealer. Mine was used. Still packs a punch, but no match for his brand new BMW M3, or his Lancer Evo tuned into oblivion. My bike is a cheaper hardtail, which fully satisfies my hobby, while his is a composite-frame, full suspension, high end parts, all that jazz, which I would only dream about.

We get along well, but we barely see each other lately. He's always on business trips and busy. Mostly at some family reunions twice a year or so.

I've always found him as a particularly interesting person. Back when I was a smoker, he asked me, how many cigarettes a day I smoke. I said a full pack. He didn't say anything about me putting my health at risk, or that it's a bad habit or anything else, but instead something which baffled me...

"How long does it take you to smoke one"? - he said.

"4-5 minutes."

"5 mins times 20 cigarettes = 100 minutes/day. Don't you feel like you're losing/wasting 100 precious minutes of the day?"

"No. Because I like the stuff, and sometimes I do my shit better with a lit up cigarette, where possible."

What baffled me is the fact that he was not arguing about the health concerns, but about the time which could have been filled somehow else.

Made his point, I guess, meaning he probably doesn't waste a single second. 99.9% of the replies to this question were: "Oh my, that's a lot. You shoud cut down."

And another, unrelated one:

It was about airlines and aircraft. I had an aviation related past and I know a thing or two about it.

He said he never travels with a certain airline.

"Why?" - i asked.

"Because they're unsafe."

"But why? The respective airline has one of the youngest fleets, their aircraft are maintained to the highest standards, operating 24-7 for years now, with literally 0 casualty incidents."

Yet he still insisted it's unsafe, actually he enforced it, but I don't remember what his arguments were. I don't understand. Still keeps his opinion to this day. There were some minor incidents along the years, like bird strikes, lightning strikes, etc. Nothing serious, no crashes and no injuries.

Have you met or known a millionaire? How would you describe them? Did you learn anything from them? Anything odd or extraordinary about them?
