I ran across this in the book, The Obstacle is the Way, by Ryan Holiday. It’s in the very start in the chapter on perceptions.

“While others are excited or afraid, we (stoics) will remain calm and imperturbable. We will see things simply and straightforwardly, as they truly are—neither good nor bad. This will be an incredible advantage for us in the fight against obstacles.”

I immediately thought about the red pill guys. They are far from calm and imperturbable, they perceive life as a continual fight against society and women. They perceive women as b-a-d, bad! Period. Maybe they could use a little of this stoicism stuff.
