Hypothetical: If men's height peaked at a certain age, and their children would inherit height based on the father's current height

A hypothetical for the ages. Enjoy.

The setup

1. Let's say men's height peaked at a certain age -- say 27 (arbitrary).
2. At this point, a man would be at his tallest and the children he gave birth to would grow be their tallest when the man was at his tallest.
3. Men's height decline fairly rapidly over the next 10 years, and the ability to have taller children due to the height increase diminish, to the point where at levels off it reaches it's lowest point after 15 years, and there is no increase in height that can be gained.

At the point of a man's peak height, and assuming he was interesting in having a family:

Would it be a travesty if he did not seek to secure the highest level of commitment in a partner at this point, when his attractiveness/desirability to the opposite sex was at its highest?

If a man was interested only in lesser forms of commitment and interested in aiming for higher commitment at some point toward the middle of his height decline or at the end, is it possible that the man could be satisfied with the woman he could get for the highest level of commitment, when his height, relative to other men available, has declined maybe midway or completely from what it was?
