Those rock islands are decent pistols. I have a friend that has a RI 1911 in .38 super. Low recoil and smooth action.

Please rack the slide to be sure there isn't a round in the chamber. Then, engage the safety. "Cocked & locked" is no good when you ignore the "locked" portion.

I'm no gun expert (hopefully I'll be able to get my license soon with this stupid fucking lockdown), but to my eye that looks like a 1911. Which is a beautiful weapon, don't get me wrong, but I hate external action pistols. I know they're as safe as the operator but something about it just unnerves me.

But either way congratulations. You can do so many cool things in life when you don't have a woman weighing you down.

Very nice! I have a Citadel which is also made by rock island. Bit of advice. Throw the stock magazines in the trash they eventually dont feed all that well and I wouldn't trust my life to them, and buy some Chip McCormick or Kimber magazines.
