It's common advice on here that one important way to unlock potential, understand your value and power, and generally be the best possible version of yourself, is to get a hobby and get good at it, and when it comes to hobbies, I highly recommend you take one up that involves building shit. (Personally, I like metalwork and machining.)

Not only are fabrication skills always in demand, which is always good from a financial stability point of view, should worst come to worst, but there is something undeniably appealing about turning blood, sweat, and time into a tangible object. The creation of tools (while not exclusive to humans) is part of what makes us the dominant species on the plant, and being able to go into a shop and shape raw material into something useful really reaffirms the power you have over the world around you, and that's a mindset I don't need to tell you is useful elsewhere in life.
