I do not accept Evolutionary Psychology as a way to describe human behavior. You can read here for a summary of some of the reasons I do not like the project

I am writing my bachelor thesis on evolutionary biology and moral epistemology, so I have been doing a lot of reading on evolutionary biology. An error I notice people make is that they assume that natural selection is the only way evolution happens; there is genetic drift, mutation and gene flow; not just natural selection. When I am done reading I can give a better reply if you would like.

majority here accept evolution and maybe even Evol. Psych. as valid

Reddit hive mind hates evo psych because it also goes against political narratives they try to promote.

I am about to graduate with a BS in science, both of the above topics are very "soft science"y in that there's no real way to prove/disprove anything. My general opinion is that a lot of people who don't know anything about anything are going to read a pop psych article from someone who also doesn't know anything about anything and make a post ab it as if it's conclusive.

I actually read some article and watch some YouTube videos about it. I think natural selection and evolutionary psychology can explain accurately how human attraction works. Why do men find women with wide hips attractive? Because wide hips means most likely birthing a healthy child. Why do women like muscular and rich men? Muscular men means security and rich means resourcefulness. You can’t change these standards and it doesn’t matter how much the incels will cry or rant about. This is what is hardwired into our biological programming.
