Haha! My sister lives in California and her other half sisters (No relation to me, it's like a Alabama type thing) live in the same area. I visited her for Christmas a couple years ago. She told the extended family I was a republican as a warning. I looked at her and said "How dare you call me a republican, republicans are wimps. I'm way more radical than that!" You know when I was still wasting my time with dating many years ago it really wasn't uncommon to see complaints about Trump and Brexit in dating profiles along with frequently "I'm a socialist" or "don't even bother if you're right wing" while at the same time demanding qualities and status symbols most men on the left won't have.

My brother in law for example is kind of a meat head and a pseudo intellectual - if it wasn't for his height and the fact he goes to the gym twice a day my sister wouldn't put up with him. I think his left wing politics stems from his lack of real skills and the absence of his father for most of his life. I'm working on him though.
