Household / emotional burden? What the hell is household / emotional burden?

This post is basically "if we have a baby I'll have to do most of the work of caring for it because he'll be making money. That's a lot of work I'll have to do. Ewwww, work is gross."

I read some of her comments. She said that there is a language barrier between her and his mother. That tells me that there most likely is a cultural barrier as well. He is 11 years older than her and makes more that twice what she makes. Sounds to me like he wants to be the breadwinner and have her stay home and take care of the house/family.

You are correct. We split everything 50:50. He is able to save a significant portion of his income, whereas I am not.

The man is making more than her, but she is contributing her monetary portion of the household now. She is bringing money into the relationship, but that money will stop when she has kids. What the commenters fail to understand is that once she has a child, she will be making up her portion of the financial burden by taking care of the chores around the house and watching the children. Her husbands answer to this was to bring his mother into the house to help her out with those things, so she didn't feel burdened all the time. She didn't like that idea based on the fact that she wouldn't get to make decisions for the house anymore. That might be a valid point on her part, but the fact that she wants her husband to work full time and also help out around the house without providing a solution as he has, makes her [above equal] in the total cost of raising the family.

Most of the time, in these posts, there isn't enough to prove that it fits the theme of the sub, because the woman is just complaining about having to do chores or that the man "gets to work all day" and feels that is "good enough for him not to do anything else". Those posts do not really fit here and will be removed, but this post has the added benefit that she is contributing money, which means she feels that she is entitled to do half the chores when they have children. But, as is most of the time, women do not have insight into future investments, and she misunderstands that her husband will be brining in 100% of the financial contribution. So, with that additional information from the comments, this post does fit.

The problem here is the same one most women in this position have. She doesn't want to compromise, at all, on anything. She has to have things her way, just the way she wants them, all the time.

And this is because she's dealing with a man who is 11 years her senior. He knows exactly what he wants and is standing up for it and is saying "no, this is what I want and need, they're dealbreakers, and I am not going to compromise on them."

women are praised for "standing up for themselves" and "walking away from bad relationships".
