Marriage holds no benefit to men anymore. Men have realized this and have adapted. 100% of the fault for this can be laid at the feet of party girls and feminists. It is actually dangerous for a man to get married in today's legal environment.

It's basically like this: Men are expected to tolerate disrespect that women are not expected to. Women get all the support and get a pussy pass nonstop. Every month has a cancer yet Breast Cancer is the only one that gets so much "awareness" and support. No one has anything to offer men in any capacity. You're basically spending money because the woman can easily replace you. Even if women know something is wrong, they will still stay on the sidelines and not help a man out yet men are expected to not only help women, but risk their lives for them, spend the money they earn on them all for nothing in return. Unless you're a hot piece of man meat, you're getting used and disrespected. Your reward? To be the wallet of some lazy entitled woman who spends her days telling you what shit you are. Work harder to please who? No one works harder to please men.

The patriarchy added social value to a strong family man. The most recent waves of feminism are destroying that social value and make marriage increasingly dangerous for a man.

The culture in my small town in the Deep South is still toward marrying young and my husband has the respect of his right wing co-workers for having a happy family life and owning a home (which he bought at the age of 22). Guess what, the men who still want a family and strong marriage are making it happen. But they are doing so with women in their teens and early twenties, women who still have years of fertility ahead, and no past to fuck up their happiness.

Women put up with him for a while, but then in fear and disgust either give up on any idea of a husband and kids or just go to a sperm bank and get the DNA without the troublesome man. But these rational choices on the part of women...

What is the point of this entire thing? That women disregarding traditional societal roles is brave and good, but men doing the same is an abdication of duty? She even says in that sentence, "Why should they grow up? No one needs them anyway. There's nothing they have to do.", but it's clearly framed like that's an inherently negative thing instead of simply a consequence of the situation.

I straight up don't get this piece. Overall it seems pretty accurate - the past few decades have seen massive distortions of traditional social roles - and I found myself nodding along with it, until periodically the author feels the need to interject "and this means that women are strong and independent, but men are irresponsible!" It's like the cognitive dissonance kicks in and she suddenly has to thrust a double-standard into the mix.

It is impossible to be what this bitch wants us to be. In the past, one man working 40 hours a week could afford a house, a car, and to support a family. Women were largely dependent on men as the breadwinners, and in return they took care of the children and the household. Now it is difficult for most men to find a job that pays enough to support these things because of globalization and rent-seeking behavior by the psychopaths on Wall Street. It also doesn't help that women will reject any man who makes less than they do.

For those men who do manage to earn enough to support a home and family, they can lose all of it because of the family court system that can make them slaves while the women get to enjoy the fruits of their labor without having to do a thing for it. Instead they just ride the CC and ruin the man's children, if they even are his children. Divorce used to be rightfully stigmatized, now it is a weapon that women are all too eager to use to rob men.

Given these two problems, they shouldn't be surprised that there is a shortage of "good" men?

Supply and demand. If women buy bad behavior from men because those are also the men that arouse them, then men are in general going to move towards treating women badly.

Feminists, or women in general it seems, are very demanding and pushy, and it's a double-standard that is still sickeningly defended in our culture. But they never offer anything in return.
