Caught up with a male friend today, he lost his wife about a year ago suddenly, and he mentioned he had ventured into online dating recently. He is retired and early 60's, bright, good shape, house and car, etc.

He started this last fall. He had a few dates, multiple women ghosted him, (A term I had to teach him) and then he landed a rather attractive woman a few years older than him. While I had plenty I wanted to warn him about, he needed to see the shitshow from the front row, so 'be careful' was my sole advice at the time.

As of today, he is done. He was soon advised by his new girl that every fri/sat/sun and tuesday or wednesday nights were to be spent with her, and his attire must be above jeans and flannel shirts. No more beer, he was advised he needs to learn wine, and every evening dinner was costing him 100 easy. She was also no fan of his dog, and griped that the dog ranked higher that she did. (NO KIDDING!)

He was not mandated into this right away, but her increasing demands resulted in the wardrobe and schedules as described. Further questioning revealed she has been married and divorced 4 times.

He concluded that there may be a reason for that.

Today he said he's done with them entirely, and that while it was fun for a bit, he does not need that level of involvement in a woman, ever.

Welcome to the party, friend.

EDIT; I have never mentioned MGTOW stuff to him, and I liked his wife, he was a complete novice to what the world of dating is these days, and it only took him from 3 months to be looking at things the way we do. We have some guy-related activities planned when the plague clears....
