Okay this is a pretty mild concern and I think a common stereotype in marriage, but my husband's sense of urgency about getting a thing done and my sense of urgency never match. Even if I say, "Hey, in the next couple of days..." a lot of things just go on the backburner. One time I made a gentle joke about how he does things on "Husband Time" and now he occasionally makes a BIG SHOW about getting something done to prove a point (he made a lot of announcements about going to Home Depot to replace the garbage disposal the day after it broke). It was cute and I was playful about it, but it would be nice if this was more of a consistent thing and not just as he remembers my little jibe.

An example of Husband Time - he said he was going to buy me a tablet for Christmas. It is March, y'all. Being that it was a gift, it felt really slimey to remind or nag but I would gently bring it up here or there about how it would be nice to have for working on recipes or after the baby comes when I'm nursing (also my laptop is junk). Costco was having a great sale up to 3/1 and so I dropped hints and reminders and still it was going on the back burner. Finally I logged into Costco, asked him if I could order it, and got it done myself.

I have been trying to deal with our taxes and we were looking at doing some interior painting. I knew we'd need our tax return to swing the cost of it. I was having issues with Turbo Tax and Tax Act and so my husband said we should get a CPA. I asked if he'd take care of it. It went on his backburner. Cue getting the estimate for the repaint job and now my husband is like "We could use that tax money." Yes...which we would have, if you had followed through with hiring a CPA. It's just this kind of stuff where I have a level of efficiency and understanding of timelines and go-getter about me that he doesn't have. I don't work, so I defer all the financial things over to him, but it's just hard to get him to care to the level that things need to be cared about to get them done. I really want the repainting done because our daughter is due in 8 weeks and TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

How do you get your husbands to actually get things done in a reasonable time without nagging and still being the charming, adorable lady that he loves? I'm not saying manipulating him to do what I want. If he vetoes the painting project, that's the end of it. I will not try to push or coerce him to do something that goes against his judgment. I know he has a soft spot for making me happy and I'd rather he make decisions for our family that are based on wise decisions so I have mentally established with myself that I won't pout or whine. When the decision is made, that's it. I'm strictly just referring to something he already agrees to but it has a deadline.
