MGTOW,

I do understand some of the core beliefs of MGTOW in that men are conditioned to be gentlemen, that marriage or cohabitation might not be necessary nor beneficial for men's lives (I would say it's if they choose wrong partners). Men are often not taught to have a backbone nor stick up for themselves in relationships or marriages, and that will inevitably work against them in the long run as society has not been looking favorably upon men in the recent climate. Women have the upper hand in divorces for sure and I think that needs to change.

I also agree with some stances regarding anti-Feminism in its present state. I disagree with this modern feminism movement in that there is a so-called "tyrannical patriarchy" and I believe we need to go against these movements with facts, logic and reason and show that such so-called tyrannical patriarchy does not exist. There is also definitely some kind of hidden agenda to promote this kind of hypocritical, militant feminism around the world and thankfully MOST women do not adhere to this kind of philosophy.

That aside, only 42% of first marriages end in divorce. From this statistic alone you can see there a good majority of couples that get it right and keep it right, and I am sure a majority of women in those marriages make good wives and good people. If it's not reasonable to get married, i.e. to a scrounge, attention-seeker, a woman who does not pull her weight, or otherwise emotionally immature person who presents a profound lack of responsibility - then DO NOT get married to her. If there is someone you genuinely love and communicate properly with, plus they pull their weight and take responsibility for themselves, then it might be reasonable to get married and actually may help to make life easier. You can find out if someone meets the mark through effective communication and proper boundaries throughout your entire relationship - not by being spineless and letting problems fester until you get fucked by them.

It is also not reasonable to make posts about what some random emotionally immature woman has said or done to you in life, and then apply black-and-white thinking and say ALL women are like that. That lacks any kind of intellectual thought, does not represent the real world, and is actually feeding into the problem dividing men and women further - just like the militant feminism on the other side. So similarly, when some women say ALL men are this way, it is profoundly illogical and emotionally immature, and should not be taken seriously.

I would like to add that there are a lot of disturbed people in the world. If you do not look out for them then it will bite you in the ass later. This should be taught to everyone but unfortunately is not. Also, both sexes are also more likely to meet the unhealthy people of the opposite sex - because they move between people faster and are more likely to be the ones to approach first. The good people are the ones you have to make a little effort to find!

Logic and reason above all. While some of the core messages in MGTOW might be a good perspective for men on how to view marriage and be careful about it (it is a big, big life event after all), I fear this sub-reddit is causing men to have a very narrow worldview and causing them to be afraid of women. I understand a lot of men get hurt badly by some crazy women, but a lot of women's lives are ruined by crazy men. The solution is to learn and grow from your experiences to become a stronger person. At the end of the day, you cannot put the entire blame for your bad life after a divorce on some crazy woman who YOU married. Take some responsibility please.

I don't mean to offend anyone - I would just would like to have a debate. What are your thoughts?
