Don't buy all the parts as you go. Save and buy all at once to make sure parts don't get outdated as you stockpile.

Same here. Been slowly at it for a couple years, tracking down the hard to find components. Nothing left now but the easy to find stuff....power supply, Noctua case fans, and Plextor DVD burner. Still have to find a color printer that does vinyl, mylar and polyester stickers, under $500. That looks to be my biggest challenge!

My advice is to buy all the parts in one shot and save until you can get them.

You will get whatever the latest is and you can install and test it all just in case returns are needed.

Nice choice on the r6, my current PC I have the r4 when I built it a few years ago. Ill probably be looking to build a new one next year. Same level as my current 2-2.5k easy.

I have the same case, just with solid side. It is pretty awesome, not perfect, but I actually like it for compactness and functionality.

I had some bigger cases in the past and they sucked.

What specs are costing you 2k? My build was 800 and runs every modern game at ultra 30-60 fps (which i know isnt good, but its a step up from my old xbox)

Ever since I've embraced mgtow approach to how I spend my money - mainly on me and what makes me happy - I've been able to spend more on my PC for the last 2 years, than I had spent the previous 10 years - and, I was also able to pay off my ever increasing credit card and have downgraded bills (cable / internet) to less than half of what I was previously paying. I've managed to buy myself brand new hardware, which previously I never did - I always bought older, 1-2 generation old hardware, when the prices dropped significantly... now I'm eagelrly awaiting new hardware and am actually considering a purchase, and not worrying if within a few months it's 100-200$ cheaper - I've already had it for a long time at that point. All it took was to stop spending all my money on women, and not waste on meaningless stuff like dinners, trips, clothes, shoes... I'm actually saving money, while spending way more on stuff I love and that I get to enjoy...

I bought a custom PC on Craigslist Years ago from a guy going through a divorce I actually gave him a few extra to deliver it.Its probably worth 5k he even had monitors and lots of video editing and digital design programs.The guy was pretty desperate to sell because he had to find a new place to live and he had kids but she got custody.

2k isn't bad but I would check online you could probably get some good deals depending on what your trying to build. I run servers for security systems cloud storage, also do alot of video editing,streaming graphic design, auto cad,and music.

I got a 08 GTO from a guy in the rears for child support it was great deal he did alot of work probably 10k in customizations,stuff I wouldn't have even thought of its a great car really turns heads a real sleeper.

I got a motorcycle off a guy who just had a baby twins actually and he had to sell,his wife wanted him to any way.Its pretty nice bike 1250cc I think got it for a fraction of the value.

S9metines I feel a little bad so I'll throw in a couple of extra bucks and tell em to have a beer on me and good luck.
