If you're a slavemaster you're not getting the most out of your slaves if you let them relax.
A woman lives off you, and so needs to brainwash you into constant work because otherwise her income could be threatened. A woman's entire strategy is about securing long term material comfort for herself while doing as little real work as possible.
[–]Profitglutton54 points55 points56 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
And then use that exact reason for why she cheats and want a divorce.

this is why, no matter how bad men have it against them, i am glad i am still a man. we can be happy. content. I'm older, own my own home, no kids, no marriage, my days are full of peace, contentment, relaxation. I own most of what i need to live and so most of my days are spent relaxing, maybe thinking about what i'll eat for dinner, if i'm going to hit the gym for the 4th time this week or play video games and have a cheat day. it's all easy.
women not only resent me who are rest, because he is NOT out earning for her, but she ALSO resents him because he can do what she cannot, be content doing nothing. unhappy people are usually unhappy doing nothing, because they have to stew in their unhappiness. it's easier being happy when you distract yourself with a food addiction or shopping addiction.

I used to come home during a big project at work 7am-7pm and would go in the garage for my second job (I used to build custom bass guitars). This second job was very important for me as it allowed good physical activity, as opposed to sitting at a desk or through meetings, and was a great creative outlet. You have no idea how relaxing carving a piece of wood with spokeshaves and rasps is until you’ve tried it. The now ex wife used to get irate and actually told me several times that she would prefer I sit on the couch and watch TV with her. I guess what I’m trying to say is, there is no pleasing them. It doesn’t matter what you do, they will go against it. They take out their personal frustrations on you.

I had a teacher in school for home economics, mind you a female, who put that on in class one day.
First of all the show is total garbage, and second the subject matter on food hording or whatever it's called is nearly made me throw up, literally.
And the teacher herself is well I think you can get the picture well enough. She was a drama queen who would bite your head off and we never did anything in her class.
On the bright side that was at least in my class, thankfully the only time ever had to sit through Doctor Phil.

the friends thing is still weird to me. i'm almost 40 years old and I still can't believe what men allow their spouse to determine in terms of their friends.
fuck, i remember growing up as a teenager and in University, felt like if you dated someone, they were at least expected to try and get along with your friends. like everyone didn't have to get along well, but the group would stay together and accept new lovers/dates as part of the group as part of the social fabric.
now that i'm older where most men are married. it's nut. I have many friends regularly tell me they can't do this or that cause the wife won't allow it. now, don't get me wrong, a man who works and has a family has limited free time. but one day a month. i'll say, so just give me one day a month for a hangout night and they'll say, "my wife doesn't like me staying out past midnight".
most of these men too are the sole and primary breadwinner of the house. and by the sounds of it most of them don't have sex or shitty sex. so boring marital sex...wife doesn't let yo have friends, you are her slave body to do as she pleases, tell me how marriage is great again?
[–]Mikay5519 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They know their marriages aren't great, but they have to convince themselves to believe that's how marriages are meant to be and the norm, otherwise their world view would shatter and all those years they spent suffering would come boiling out at once.
So the facade has to continue.
[–]MrMagtow10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is exactly what Esthar Vilar said in her foreword of the re-print of "Manipulated Man". The biggest surprise she saw in condemnation of her book was that men refused to "throw off the chains" and doubled-down into their slavery. I often ask my married friends when they say something like "my wife won't like it if I..." or "I have to ask permission to spend money on..." - I ask them "before you got married, did you used to ask your parents for permission? or your girlfriend?". They would always say "no..." and the dull light behind their eyes would get slightly brighter, but the puzzled look on their face would say it all.
[–]devillived6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agree with both these points. Would also like to add that some of these men are stuck because they have kids, and they love them and wouldn't want the kids to suffer through the trauma of having bickering parents should he dare oppose his wife's views of him controlling his life. God it's scary to even type it out. The amount of control these wives have.
Although I must say i do know a small select group of men who are brave enough to not only maintain a somewhat stable looking abode AND still firmly but gently let their woman know that they have needs.
In a sense although I would agree that almost all men who find themselves in marriage end up as sad slaves, there does exist a minority who manage to stand their ground. But only the strongest survive.
[–]fagstick1231 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol yup! I finally had a break through moment on this very thing recently. My wife kept complaining about the guest bathroom sink and wanted me to fix it. I work on a drilling rig, 28 days on 14 days off about 14 hr days including driving time, which is already a physically demanding job. The last thing I want to do when I get home is tear down a sink assembly. So, I laid out what tools she might need and said here you go figure it out! If you can’t do it I’ll get to it in 3 weeks when I have time. Hahaha it was fixed the next day! She even cleaned the garage and organized most of the attic today. Fucking. Awesome.

Agreed. Most women seem to have been brought up to believe that men must do everything that seems to resemble 'work' and that it's their sole duty. They seem to believe that in a relationship the woman's job is merely to sit back, relax, and not do anything.
The sad thing is, even if what I said above is true, most men are gracious enough to have such a relationship.
What grinds my gears is that, on top of having a good life where they can stay at home and allow their man to be the sole breadwinner, they STILL find something to complain about, be unhappy about, and will then use that to ruin their man's day.
For youngsters: please consider and understand that men have their own power and need to own it. Understand that most men go into marriage and end up unhappy.
For those already narried: understand that we silently support you. Of course, it's your own life and choices but understand that you are your own man and we wish you all the best and hope you have the strength to protect your own emotional and mental wellbeing

A lot of guys nowadays are really just women. There seems to be some misconception that being a woman, as a man, is attractive to straight women. I don’t know if it’s the lack of fathers, or testosterone in general, but it doesn’t seem to be conscious and it runs deep.
[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
You're on point. It's lack of masculinity and male role models / father figures in their lives growing up that gives them the belief that identifying with women will get them women.
Whenever reality slaps them in the face and they're forced to see that women are attracted to "evil bad men" they ignore it and blame the girl for being damaged. Never learning from it.
Really, feminized men only see two options; try harder or end it all.
[–]BertTheWelder15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Men don’t like masculine women. Why the fuck would men think women like feminine men? Opposites attract.
[–]scruffyshoulders6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's the thing, women do like those traits in men. It allows them to get along better because they are operating at a similar wavelength. It makes cohabitation easier, and who do women tend to cohabitate with, beta men. Sure, they're gonna go fuck Chad because that's what they crave sexually, but at home they like to have a nice agreeable cuck.
[–]rkelly1112 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There are a few women that like feminine men and 8 have seen some men like masculine women. Not sure what to say about it tho. Also the dude that is dating serena Williams seems to like masculine chicks.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Because they haven't had any healthy masculinity in their lives, they only know how to view the world through the female perspective. Everything is unconsciously feminine to them, this is why they believe everyone is equal and also why masculinity seems 'bad' to them.

Too bad she's fictional.
But yeah, a partner who could literally have my back in a firefight if it came down to it? Who's decisive in a shit-hits-the-fan scenario even if she isn't trained for that specific situation?

Being needy or not needing them at all.
Being too much supportive or not supportive at all.
Being to much emotionally available to her or not being emotionally available to her at all.
Understand them completely or not understand them at all.
Giving her everything she wants or not giving her anything she wants.
Doing everything for her or not doing anything for her.
Now.. these are all black and white examples, so you'd assume there's a silver-lining you should find to please them. What happens when you find the silver-lining and give it to them? They want more. They'll hate it if you don't give them more and they'll hate it if you do give them more because that now falls under either black or white.

Same man, sister came to stay over the holidays and completely flipped shit that I leave the seat up. Like it’s my bathroom, I’m the only one who uses it other than my dad. My mom doesn’t give a shit, she uses the other bathroom. But I guess I’m supposed to change my habits of my daily life just for her convenience.
Her and my brother in-law are gonna move here in a few months until they find a house they like and save some money in the meantime. So she’s in for a real shit storm, bitch is also having a baby and expected me to babysit. Whenever I told her ass no her jaw just hit the fucking floor. Couldn’t believe I refused her. I pay rent while living at home, help pay for food, pay my phone bill, buy all of my own shit for the most part.
Worst part is since she’ll be living here she probably assumes all the foods for the taking. I’m thinking about buying a mini fridge for my room to keep my food safe. I’m gonna lose my spot at the dinner table as well. Only enough seats for 4 people. If I didn’t just lose my job I would move out until she’s gone.

Its even "better" when they fuck their own lives up and then try dumping as many problems on their family as possible.
I'm single, no kids, and self employed so for some reason that somehow meant free 24 hour baby sitting to them. They've mostly learned but there is one day that still years later sticks out in my mind.
Where I woke up almost at noon after a very late night. I'm walking to the bathroom and all of a sudden my 7 year old niece is standing there telling me she's hungry. Because she'd been dropped off early that morning & had only been given a granola bar for breakfast. So I used the bathroom and made her a sandwich and asked why she didn't make one herself. She then told me her mother never showed her how to even make a PB&J sandwich.
Both my sisters are fuck ups and this one already doesn't understand why her family doesn't like her.
