I'm willing to bet the majority of you ended up here at TRP because of heartbreak/sexual frustration/depression.

I am also willing to bet the majority of you have put sex on a pedestal more than once. Not women. Just sex.

I understand fully how it feels. I too once put sex high on a pedestal, thinking it was an ultimate end goal (for some god forsaken reason) and now that I am savvy enough in the social market to secure sex close to whenever I want it, I don't crave it like I used to.

This doesn't mean sex isn't as fun or passionate, but it's not important. It's a side pleasure. It won't make me happy for little longer than the duration of the actual sex and perhaps the ego boost afterwards, but after those chemicals wear off, I'll be right back where I was before the sex happened.

AND, this is because sex is a simple pleasure for me now. It doesn't take much effort and the reward isn't honestly too amazing. It's fun but not fulfilling.

You know what is fulfilling, however? Seeing your own improvement in an area. Looking in the mirror and seeing your new physique from working out. Filling up your bank account with more money than you thought you'd ever have. Getting an A in a class. Studying something new because you want to. SUCCEEDING IN LIFE, MOTHERFUCKER. THAT IS FULFILLING.

And the best part about it? It's never over. You will never be fully satisfied and fulfilled where you are, because that is the human condition. You will always find new reasons to keep pushing forward. You might find these reasons to be nagging and negative, but trust me, when you think "Damn I need to be better" in lifting, finances, sociability, whatever, you have just set a goal for yourself. A goal to improve, and that is the beginning of fulfillment.

I'm rambling.

The biggest take away I've learned since I started my journey here is to live life to improve. Improvement is fulfilling, and while sex is nice, it is not fulfilling. Never give up on your goals. Never give up on your happiness. I've never been happier since starting my own journey, and I wish you luck in your own.
