Not really dark, only a different perspective.
"Girl next door" types almost universally turn into sluts once they go away to college and are out from the parental thumb. The only exception I've ever met was a hardcore Baptist girl who got married at 20 so she could hurry up and get some dick already.
The key to coming to terms with this is to do the same as the last poster; learn how to fuck these women. Yes, it ruins your childhood fantasies, of a cute wife and kids, but you only have one life to live and marriage is a dying institution anyways.
Lots of guys work hard in college to get good jobs and "earn" themselves one of these fantasy wives. Obviously you should still work hard in school and try to get a good job, but there's no such thing as a nuclear family anymore, so don't do it for that.

A year ago I was hard up for pussy like crazy. I was short, slightly chubby, and awkward. I fell in love with a friend and was betrayed eventually by hypergamy.
I started off depressed, but then I started working out in sheer anger. What started off as a revenge plot turned into a lifestyle. And all of a sudden, I noticed some changes. When I slimmed a bit and gained some muscle, women became more interested in me. I was no Chad, but I definitely got women hitting on me. The same women who wouldn't even give me the time of day back then suddenly chatted with me. For shits and giggles I went on an online dating site and posted my gym pics. I once had trouble getting even 3 women to message me in a month. I got 15 responses in a single NIGHT with my gym pics.
It was nice, almost intoxicating to have that kind of attention, even from less than attractive women and plain chicks, but it woke me up from the pedestalization. I had to bust my ass and stay disciplined and diet to lose weight and gain muscle JUST to get the women who all they had to do was not be fat or bitchy, and many of them can't even do that.
Women in general aren't special. They're people. It's our hormones that compel us to believe otherwise. Once you become attractive to them you realize it's all bullshit, and that all the effort men put into a girl is only exchanged by a few moments of intercourse and a false sense of security that deep inside, you know you wouldn't get if you hadn't worked on improving yourself.
Men are cursed to crave emotional security and sexual security while at the same time, knowing deep down how conditional and fleeting it actually is.

If you are always bored and unhappy, that won't change just because you get a girl. Think about all other things you wanted and thought would make you ultimately happy but at the end changed nothing.
Did you think getting that xbox, that game, that car, would change your life? I bet it felt great getting it. I know it did for me. But what of the after? Next year are you back where you started? As a society we are trained to chase the little rewards in hopes of becoming ultimately happy. Buy this toy! Take that vacation! Eat food at this place! Experience this! But happiness is not a permanent state. We adapt to the situation and normalize it. That's why drug junkies always chase the high. Even hardcore chemicals won't keep you in the same state for a long time.
Men are chasing chicks because they are horny. Think back to the last time you were really hungry. Didn't any food at all sound good? No matter how bland, or crappy it was, you were hungry and wanted to just eat it. But when you're only a little hungry you become choosy, right? If you are going to eat something then it better be something good!
Don't chase girls to wife up or date just because you need to get your rocks off.

This was posted last year and I remember reading it. One of my all time favourite MGTOW posts because it resonated with me. I used to fall in love with these girls because they were not hot enough for the top guys in high school, so they would flirt with me and my friends.
