Everyone and their mothers has tattoos now - it's basically another NPC thing, everyone doing the same shit. Before this generation only certain individuals had them, or at least at so many they're always visible but now everyone gets a tattoo as a right of passage or some shit idk. Most teens have tattoos now, and I've even seen several kids with the face tattoos that drug rappers have.

Im 36 years old and got my first tattoo a few weeks ago in Bali. It was done the traditional poke style and is meaningful to my life and tied to one of the best experiences and vacations I have ever had. Contrast that with some assholes drunken barb wire armband tattoo or tribal garbage or every basic THOT with some cutesy cartoon something that was relevant 15 years ago but largely forgotten today. I don't mind tattoos on women. I don't have any myself, which often leads to suspicions that I'm an undercover police officer at squat parties and the like. This is reasonable as that group of friends are about 20 years younger than me, I have no tattoos and I don't smoke hash due to my asthma (I must try one of those new fangled vaporizer things..) I have a few piercings though, which helps.

I like celtic and 'modern primitive' or tribal tattoos. I'm not sure they age well though. A friend's girlfriend seems to have a few new 12 by 7 inch tattoos on her arms and thigh. They look great, especially one of an owl, but I do worry that the prettiest girl I've met in years may have just owned herself big time..

I really don't like highly coloured tattoos though, especially around the neck (I'm looking at you, Miss Judas Priest reference catcher..)
