I'm with the writer of the article. I just switched from an iPhone 5c to a pixel 2, and I really miss the small form factor. Easier while biking, and I found I used it less.

I can totally see how smaller people can have complaints about the lack of smaller sizes.

But that's not how they framed it. They framed it as an attack on women, not on people with smaller hands.

The 7, 8, and XR are the smallest production phones right now. [Lets compare the 7, XR, and SE](https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?&idPhone3=5685&idPhone1=9320&idPhone2=8064). The SE had a 4" screen, the 7 has a 4.7", and the XR has a 6.1". 4.7" is significantly larger than 4", as that is the diagonal screen measurement, the screen size grows... exponentially, I think it is.

So let's say you're a person with small hands and you don't want a god damn phablet, this is a scary trend to see. I don't have data to back this up, but I do imagine that the larger your phone is, the more likely it is to be dropped. The smallest android phones have a 5" screen.

I don't have small hands, but much prefer small screens. I use my phone less, and it's easier when biking. [Women do have smaller hands](http://www.smallpianokeyboards.org/hand-span-data.html), it's not unfair to say that this is a women's issue, though it would be more accurately called an issue for people with small hands. But if the feminist angle works... well, I'll take it.

In the greater context of life, death, and shitting your pants, this isn't an important issue at all. But still, the replies on this post are pretty disappointing.
